If you wind your own bobbins, what weight thread do you use? I bought one spool of bobbin thread but there is no weight listed on it.
Thanks
I prefer to prewind, I do about 20 at a time so they last for ages, well depending on what I'm doing, *4u
Welcome to our Cute Family!! I have the Janome 300E, and usually I wind my own, cause it's so easy on this machine. Also, too cheap to buy pre-wound ones, hee hee hee. I also have a regular Janome sewing machine, so sometimes when I'm in the sewing room, I just have that machine filling bobbins while I'm doing something else. I don't seem to have any problem sewing with the ones I fill myself, anyway, I don't know about lasting longer. Marji
I prefer to fill my own & I buy what are recommended for my babylock. U have received lots of answers, so go 4 it. *4U
Thank you so much for all the great advice. You are all so helpful. I'm glad to get to know you all.
Thanks and have a great day!
I normally wind my own bobbins 10 - 20 at a time. But I got a box of 144 prewound bobbins free, would normally have set me back € 27.50, which makes them almost twice as expensive as winding my own. But they are quite convenient.
I have a husqvarna designer 1 and I use prewound bobbins size L, I have the luck to never have problem with I buy them by 144 on internet i save time, and I think they about more longer.
I have a janome 300E and always wind my own . I try to wind 30 or 40 at a time Often do them on another machine while embroidering
americangirl, whether you use pre-wound or wind your own is a matter of personal choice.
But whichever you use, always make sure they don't have any *burrs* on the outer edge, this can prevent the thread from flowing freely, and really mess-up your embroidery.
Love, hugs and flowers to you all.
Be sure you get the proper size bobbins if you buy prewound ones. I came acrss a great deal, 144 bbbins for around $25. Sometimes they work good other times they just mess up. I checked the owners manual for my sewing machine and found out if I use these bobbins I could do damage to my machine. Wish I would have checked this out first.
Welcome to our cute family. I have a husqvarna #1+ and wind my own cuz I can't find prewound ones that go in my machine... sure would be nice and last longer. *4U ><>
I buy nebs, they last longer than the ones I wind myself. I buy them by the gross. So, the only ones I wind are the ones I need for matching colors. *4U
I have always wound my own but have had a few problems with them. I have jut bought my first prewound. I will find out tomorrow which is bust (I hope. I had heard from others that the prewound was th best. I shall give them a try.
good luck with what ever you decide.
I have a Janome MC350e and fill my own. It's so easy on this machine. Hugs!
americangirl, I do my own - but that is because my machine prefers a special thread and doesn't like the prewound. I used to purchase my bobbins from the sewing center that I had bought my Ellure through - but I have an Ellegante now. I do believe that you should ask the sewing center that you bought your machine - what would work best in prewound bobbins for that machine - they can direct you to the best brand then you can search for it on the internet. There are many sites to purchase from.
I have a Janome 300E and always do my own. My Janome dealer did not recommend pre-wound bobbins.
I do my own, it is pretty much a matter of preference and it also depends of the type of machine you have as there are some that do not take pe-wound bobbins.
I use pre-wound for my Huskystar em10. But I have to wind my own for my Babylock Ellure plus
I do my own - my machine likes Brother bobbin thread so I just do my own. *4U Sue
i also do my own what kind of machine do you have american girl
I have a Janome 300E. I have used both prewound and wound my own. I just wondered if one was better than the other, and where was the best place to buy prewound if that was better.
Thanks for all the help.
Dear americangirl, I usually fill my own because my Brother Innovis doesn't always like the pre-filled ones. When I do use them, I use Fil-Tec prefilled bobbins.
I hope that you are enjoying Cute. We're glad that you're here!
