I am using PE Design 4.0 I would love to upgrade, but I can't afford it right now! How do you compensate for the push-pull?
Don't know much about it but hope you get it all figured out. *2U
Yes, it is. One thing you must remember about digitizing is the push and pull of the thread. It pulls the material together in the direction of the stitches, and pushes it apart between the rows of stitches. I hope I've explained that right. You have to compensate for that. Example, if you are making a circle, and have the stitches going horizontally, if you don't compensate you will end up with an oval, the circle will narrow in the direction of the stitches, and elongate up and down because the rows will push the material vertically. This will not show up on the computer visualization of the stitch out, but will show up in the embroidery. What program do you have, do you have a manual with it? I'd love to try and help, digitizing is such fun! Marji
Heather, I hope you don't mind but I added the 'digitizing' topic to your question so thatit will be easier for everyone to come back to this post.
I am answering this so I can have a reference point in my answers at a later date when I will actually start to try and digitize. I knew the answers would be gr8 so I want to have easy access lol Thanks for the Q *
misscharlie, under "popular topics" on the left side of the page is a catagory for "digitizing". You might try that for any posts in the past.
TYVM I do utilize that as often as possible along with the search feature, but it never hurts to find out more. AND sometimes I just can't wrap my head around things, there is no light bulb. It was a candle and it melted years ago.
