As you can probably already tell I am gonna be a pest for a little while until I get the technique down, but I was wondering, can I use any embroidery thread on this machine or a specific 1?

My Brother loves Gutermann HATES Radiant threads, got a "deal" on eBay :( It works fine with the Coats and Clark at Walmart but it's pricey there. So far I only use Polyester. Tried a cotton once machine spit it out at me. Bobbin thread I am using Coats and Clark at the moment no probs. *

Just spent the last 8 months working for a sewing & embroidery machine retailer Brother being one of the brands we sold.....we found that Brother machines want the Brother bobbin thread. We sold Robison Anton, Spectrum and PaceSetter (Brother) embroidery threads and all worked well with Brother Emb. Machines. A good affordable outlet for Robson Anton thread is RedRockThreads.com Have fun with your machine, you'll love it.

As long as you use quality thread you are usually OK, although brother prefers their own brand or Madeira. I've used a lot of different brands and only one, a thread bought at a market stall did break at higher speed. So it's a matter of choice, as is using polyester or viscose (rayon). I use both and cotton as well. And questions are more than welcome.

Congratulations on getting your new machine. My machine has never been picky as to thread brands, so try a couple of different brands before you make a major purchase. Do buy a thread stand separate from your machine that is taller than your machine. that way the thread comes off the spool up and then down to your machine. This is very helpful especially with metallic and rayon threads. Each time you add a new color, but 3 spools in color family. Example- orange, light yellow orange and burnt orange. that way you have orange and a highlight shade and a shadow shade. Good luck Sweetie.

Please know that you can ask any question here and will NEVER be thought of as a "pest"!!!! I have a brother Innovis 4000D and I have found that my machine has to have the Brother bobbin thread to do a good job. But, as far as top thread goes, I use Coasts & Clark and Mettler without any problems. (So far anyway, been using them for about 2 1/2 years now.) Hope this helps and *4U Sue

I can verify that "pest" statement I have tested it thoroughly.

You are not a pest,we all try to help each other and learn from each other. When I first started I was so anxious to get alot of colors I bought a couple of inexpensive sets on ebay and my machine did not like them.I now use Robinson & Anton thread and Coats & Clark thread and my machines like both of those. My advise would be to buy singles until you see what works best for you and your machine. I also have learned 4 my machines they do best with brother bobbin thread. I have a brother embroidery machine.

Your not a pest, asking questions is how we learn. I don't know what kind of thread is best, I'm new too. I use Madeira and I haven't had any problems.

any usually can be used but some machines favor a certain brand at times. That is what I have been told. Good luck and enjoy..........*4u
