The way I understood it to read was, that if we buy a licenced fabric or design we have the right to use it and can sell or give away anything we make from it ,but we can not alter the design or sell the actual design as ours. What was your interpitation ? link http://www.tabberone.com/Trademar...

Let me clarify that I find this article interesting, and I have no way of knowing of the accuracy of the info. I am not saying it is right or wrong as I do not know. I am not saying it is ok to sell, or give away things you make with any licenced material or design on it,I still will NOT take the risk of copyrite violations by doing that. I am just surprised by this info and found it worth reading and discussing.I am intimdated by the copyright owners, and will continue to play it safe, and stay away from using linsenced material and designs. My motto is better safe than sorry.

Grammy, they might be right, I don't know if they're lawyers or not. I'm not a lawyer. Can the fabric manufacturers intimidate me? Yes. Maybe it's not legal, but I'd rather use WalMart fabric and clip-art designs that are legally purchased or freebies than take a chance with Licensed stuff. It is just not worth the hassle for me. The website you pointed to has mainly to do with selling on eBay, anyway. Is Disney going to raid your local craft fair because you made a baby bunting out of a Disney fabric? I doubt it. But when you expose yourself on eBay, there are just lots of troublemakers out there who enjoy "turning people in", believing they are the world crafting police or something. Personally, I'd find another way to make $, if that's what you are thinking. Marji

I agree with you.I am not willing to take that chance either, but found this very interesting, and just wonder if this info is accurate and if I am interpitating it correctly.I would just like to know what the "real" law is pertaining to this. Always to much grey areas. Thank you so much for your concern tho Marji. I go by the old motto, better safe then sorry.
