I am trying to learn how to split a design. I chose this one because of no color changes. I think I did ok, I just need to learn how to line up the designs properly, it is off about 1/16 of an inch. I used the TP in order to not waste materials. I test a design out on TP if it looks good I have pretty TP if the design is bad I still have usable TP!

It is very good I don't see where it is a gap you are talking about.Love your design as well as a bow on top.*4U

If you look to the left of the body of the butterfly you see it is "darker" that is where the stitches overlapped. I think ribbons/bows are the best distraction for a mistake lol *

Charlie, this looks great!! As for lining up, did you ever hear of the Clothsetter by Janome? I have one (not that I use it, mind you), supposed to be able to exactly place designs. Maybe someone that has one & actually uses it could tell you, hee hee hee. I can't see where you mis-aligned, anyway, good camera work, hee hee hee. Marji

What kind of TP do you use? Will any work? Or is one better than the other. I do want to give this a try. It would make wonderful gifts for those family members on my list who have everything and are so hard to buy for.

I am poor so that means I am thrifty so my cutie Lillian says, anyways I use Big Lots brand TP 12 dbl rolls for $5. I have used fabric softener sheets. For the first layer I the hoop then TP then med wt tear away stabilizer or med wt TP ned wt. Here is the link for my very first TP http://projects.cuteembroidery.co...
I do not recommend using WSS I just didn't have tear away at the moment and needed the gift made that nite. GL my email is in profile if you want more instructions on the way I do it.

misscharlie by misscharlie 17 Aug 2008

If you can read through the typos
IF not here it is again better.
1. Hoop Med wt tear away stabilizer
2. Hoop TP fold TP in half so that the top of paper will have the design when rolled back up.
3. Hoop med wt stabilizer

I don't remember where I got the design, unfortunately I never kept track of downloads until I came to this site and started posting projects. Now when I download a design I put the site name with it so I can tell everyone. *

Miss Charlie,
I've been doing that too. It works great! Hurray for TP.
Your design is beautiful. I doubt that anyone using yur bathroom will be critiquing it. If they do, take away ALL of the TP!!!! Good Job!
