I envy you your patience - this is an heirloom to treasure Jo
Rossie, this is absolutely stunning. Your colour combination is wonderful. This is a lot of work and a lot of quilting. Well done on a masterpiece. *4U
You have done an amazing job Rossie. It is just beautiful I am sure she will love it. Looks like you have quite some work for a while. Definitely perfect for a king size. How long did it take you to do this quilt?
Thank you so much. it took 6 weeks working solidly to put it together and then another 2 weeks to Quilt. I Quilted it "to an inch of it's life " Glad I did as the quilting really shows up.
This is beautiful - I hope she appreciates it, and most of all YOU!
Your quilt is just beautiful. and so much work has to have a lot of love in it.
Hi Roslyn, your quilt is stunning and I love it! I have one question, "What is "Spat the dummy"? I have never heard that term but obviously others have as they have not asked what it means. Maybe I am just slow!!! Ha-Ha-Ha!!!! I feel that a question never asked is an answer never known--and--I want to know! Thanks, Bonita
Bonita I have never head "Spat the Dunny " before either and would like to know the meaning of it.
Hi Bonita, I think that you could say , Gave up the ghost- or gave it up as a bad joke - or Just fed up with it, but under the same lines.
How many hours of love did you put in this? Beautiful.
Thank you. Hate to tell you I din't count. But LOTS Multiply 6 weeks x 7 days x 8 - 10 hrs ( Just to put it together) and then 2 weeks Quilting.= A DARN LOT But then I love her that much too
wow, you must have been working on this a very long time, but the result is wonderful.*4u
wow , what a quilt, it is so beautiful, ur niece must be very special to u.
Just gorgeous!! My quilting projects are not nearly this ambitious!! Congratulations to you. Marji
Ta Marji, it was a big project and I got grey Hairs from it. ( OOPs I already have grey hairs)
It is beautifull
Thank you Sandra. I thought I should have used darker Greens and Brown. But it didn't turn out too bad
Dear Roslyn, wonderfully stunning masterpiece! Now I can see the "avid" quilter!! .. ha.. Good Luck with your next project! Mary, Melbourne
Thank you Mary from Melbourne.I have a couple I started 18 months ago(or there abouts). They are my next ones ( Until something else catches my eye )
Absolutely stunning! Such a beauty! Your niece will treasure it, I'm sure.
Ta Much. I think that she was" stunned"when I handed it to her. She chose the design and told me the colours and then I just had to finish it before the wedding ( and one for her mother too )
Rossie, oh my - what a quilt - I didn't know that beds were that large - this is so beautiful - I know your neice and her new husband will treasure it. Great job!
Ta Much .Now you know what I do in between embroidering stuff. They have a "king size" bed so I sort of had to guess what size to make it. Tyler puts her Pillows under, like a "sham" so it had to be long enough. All guess work I suppose
It is mind boggling, gorgeous, How long did it take you? Here I am fretting over a baby quilt my daughter wants me to make lol. Kudos to you and your craftsmanship no artistry. *
Ta Misscharlie. It took 6 weeks ( nearly 8-10 hour days) to cut and put it together and then another 2 weeks quilting it. BOY was I pleased when it was finished.I think that it took around 3 hours JUST to hand sew the binding down. But I don't begrudge one ounze of time spenton it. You'll get yours finished too and it will be beautiful Cheers
I'm sure your neice appreciates all the hard work Roslyn. Something to be proud of that's for sure.
Thank you. I Hope they do. We can only hope can't we. She was the Recipient of the Purple Quilt too. I think I'll have to
think of something else for the 2 boys ( Men) they already have one each, But I think the eldest boy MAY be thinking of marriage next year. Just a "hunch"
