I'm in florida, about 30 miles north of Daytona Beach, we've been battening down the hatches ourselves. From what they are saying currently it shouldn't be to bad. As usual the weathermen overexaggerate. They usually do tho. It kinda reminds me of the 'little boy who cried wolf' I'm so afraid when a really big storm comes along nobody will listen. The media always overhipes, not sure if it's to be extra careful and to be sure you watch their t.v. station.
I hope the storm passes without too much damage to property and everyone is safe. I had a holiday near Kissemmee a few years ago and was curfewed over the last weekend while the hurricane went through. It was an amazing experience as we don't have those sorts of storms here in the UK, but the damage to peoples homes and businesses was devastating.Fotunately there was little danger to life. And I was gobsmacked at how quickly life returned to normal. Jo
Hope that you all be safe, be carefull. Think of you and all your family.
Please, be all safe!!
We'll be praying for you all!!
Mary, Melbourne
Take care. Hope all is well. It is now about 1245AM so I imagine things are getting a little rough. Check in with us after the storm.
You and your family will be in my prayers. DH and I rode out Frances and Jeanne in Vero Beach in 2004. It was not fun!! Hence the fact that we are back in Maryland and sold our place in Vero Beach. Please check in ASAP after the storm. Will be looking for your post.
Let us all know how you're doing after the storm. Praying all is and will be well!
Will be thinking of you and the others in the path of the storm. Take care and let us know how you are when you can.
I have a winter place in Punta Gorda. Made sure my insurance was in order this morning. After Hurricane Charley in 2004 we have a generator there in case we lose power. Sure hope things turn our well for us!!
My sons inlaws have a place in Punta Gorda. They are in NC now with their fingers crossed.
My Mother used to live in Port Charlotte - after that last one - she would never go back there. She was lucky she had moved here - her place went to the ground.
Yes - I live in Central Florida, and we have all ready had a lot of rain - Just make sure you stay safe - we are not to get it until tomorrow afternoon. I just want to make sure I have done what I need to do at work, and then back over that bridge before the winds hit here. Be careful - back to you in a couple days.
