I was wondering why where you typing like that. I was already thinking it was a new trend lol. Hope you get it fix soon.
Claudia, in spite of it - you have learned to adapt. *4U

We have similar problem. So I went to Dick Smiths & bought a plug in mouse. Works for us. Mabey go with the external keypad.
Hey it would be funny to write with no space. Nowthatwouldgetsomefrustratinglaughsmabeyorcursingsitsakillerforb'daycards :) just a thought
I have an external keyboard on my laptop, actually everythng is external on my laptop. You can pick up a keyboard w/ usb plug under $20 almost everywhere. My 2 towers eventually died, and because I drive for a living I thot I would get a laptop to take w/ me on trips. Well I hate typing on the laptop so I got the keyboard, and it came with a mouse so I added that. Then I had to print some things so I hooked up the printer. I have 2 external cd/dvd burners so that I don't burn out the internal burner. Finally the light in the laptop screen burned out so I bought a 21" LCD flat screen now I am so hooked up my laptop can't go anywhere with me lol.

MY laptop is only permanently attached to an old monitor and a mouse (I hate those touch pads) and an external hard drive for back up. But the monitor is the thing that keeps me in own spot. lol
If you have a computer with a separate keyboard, they are quite inexpensive to replace. In the meantime, have you checked that there is nothing under the space bar keeping it from pressing down all the way? The smallest bit of a crumb or dirt or broken pencil point or.... can do that. Turn keyboard over and shake GENTLY. Sometimes I will take a stiff paper and gently scrape under the key with a corner of it. A mini-vacuum or blower for computers is another possibility if you have it.
Good luck to you. I sympathize with computer withdrawal pangs - I have been subject to them for many, many years. LOL
Oops, just realized you said laptop. Many laptops have provision for external monitors and keyboards for desktop use. Hope your problem gets solved quickly and easily.

You probably have done this, but did you reboot your machine yet? You may be able to plug one in to a port... ? Not sure what connectors are out there for keyboards. Meg would know that one for sure!
