It's a very nice square. I really should start to use up all the scraps I saved in numerous boxes. I've even cotton dresses I made for myself in the early sixties (my mum gave away everything before that time) I'm such a hoarder!
this is a beautiful pattern I love it .this would be beautiful to embroidery in the center of the block . Add modern with the old.
Frugality is a marvelous thing, I myself try to b, this is lovely. I when I was a lot younger would see one of my grandmother's quilt & remember where all the scraps came from. I would say"that was my dress, or that was Aunt so& sos' dress, or grandmas apron. Such memories u guys bring to me sometimes. 4u
I remember sending granny a box of scraps one winter because everyone said she was down because she didn't have scraps to make a quilt durng the winter. I just packed up one of my boxes and sent it to her. hee hee She sent the same box back with her finished quilt on top of the scraps and told me I had enough scraps left to make at least 10 more quilts. :)
Lovely. There's such a feeling of satisfaction when you have used up some scraps and not had to go out and buy new fabric for a quilt, isn't there? *4U
Thank you Shirley. You wouldn't believe the looks I received every time we moved. He would say, all you do is save more boxes of scraps, you never use them. hee hee. He reminded me of that when I started quilting. hee hee
Deb, I think your granny taught you well. Great job and what a special quilt.
Thank you Shirlene. My granny taught me to sew on her treadle machine (my avitar). She was only able to see my first quilt but her expression said everything.
