I love to Quilt but I have been busy latley embroidering ( and Painting ) A flower for you.
Why is it not letting put a flower here?
I guess it is the thought that counts.
:o)
Oh, never mind - I was having another idoit moment. Not to worry - it's over.
I also like to quilt. I haven't done anything elaborate, just simple ones for Project Linus. I have a couple of patterns for which I purchased fabric but haven't started them.
I can relate to that. I don't do really elaborate ones very often - I have to be practical.
Yes, I love quilting also. Self taught, I stay simple, do strip quilts, and Eleanor Burns "Quilt in a Day" stuff. Although I do thing Eleanor must have been around at Creation, because I think it's God's "Day" she's talking about there, mine sure wasn't finished in a day, hee hee hee. I want to start embroidered quilts now. Marji
You are funny!! I like your thinking. I really like strip quilts too. I would love to learn more of them. They are so much quicker.
Thanks you for all your wonderful input. It is fun to see how many of us all share the same hobbies. We have different levels and fun things to share. I really enjoy this group!! Have a great week everyone.
I also enjoy Quilting,I have made my grand kids Log cabin ,my self a cathederal hand sewn quilt,I made this Quilt out of alot of my kids cloths in 1975,and have added some of my grandkids things that i have made them it has been fun
I'm a self taught quilter using my embroidery patterns as a starting point. Lots of baby quilts using the alphabets, then quilt em myself on my machine. I cant afford to go to the quilt shops and pay $100 to use their quilters so I roll and push/pull and do ok. Whenever dh teaches me I'll load some pix.
I would love to see some pics. I don't take mine and have them quilted either.
I have just started Quilting and just like this site and embroidery I have got the bug. I have done 2 quilt tops but not put together yet.
I also love quilting and have been doing it for about 20 years. I belong to 3 quilting groups and love taking courses to learn new techniques. I am doing a course on 'Reversible Quilts' with Sharon Pederson next Saturday. She is in South Africa to teach at our National Festival in September. She will be staying with me for a few days and I am looking forward to that. Well, I'd better get back to my sewing room. *4U
Sounds like you have a fun upcoming weekend, I hope you enjoy it. I have never heard of reversible quilts - tell me more.
Shirley,I am so envious! What a great idea she came up with.
Americangirl, search the projects for Landon's quilt, I made it for my GS to be using Sharon's method.
Jo
Is there a way to search for it by name? I would love to see, but I don't want to go through all of those pages unless I have too. :o)
pages 59 and 63. I guess it was a while back. July 19 was the shower. I don't know of any other way to find something other than to just look through the pages.
We need a project search, that we can type in the project name to find it. I looked at that quilt and it is really nice. I really like the bright colors. Excellent job!!
I love to quilt, I am in the middle of doing one for my bed which I have combined embroidery and quilting should have it finsihed next week, then will upload some pics, also doing a baby quilt for a cousin and a quilt for my daughter and her boyfriend for xmas, I guess sleep is out of the question for the next few weeks.LOL *4u
You are busy - I hope for your sake you don't need much sleep. I would love to see some of your pics.
I love quilting. I actually quilted longer than embroidered. I just wish there were more hours to the day and days to the week and lots less stress so I could do more. *4U ><>
I also have quilted longer. I have only had an embroidery machine about a year. I'm really new at this.
I also wish there was less stress - but life is good.
I do americangirl, but just doesn't seem to b enough time n the day. *4U
I'm a self taught quilter and have several UFO's floating around. Ama currantly working on kingsize for daughter, and have two baby quilts in progress, one of which will be donated to Children's Hospital. Have fun with your quilting.
Thank you. What does UFO stand for? I have only been to one quilt class, but I do really enjoy making them. Good for you to share with the Children's Hospital, that's awesome!!
I have been quilting steady since 2001 (shortly after my husband died) but my mother and my grandmother were both quilters, so I have been around it all my life. I absolutely love it. I made the drag around size for children or lap quilts mostly and have probably made close to 200. I have pictures of most of the.
WOW!! I haven't made anywhere near that many. You are one busy woman!!! I come from a long line of quilters also.
as I said, I loooovvvvvee making quilts. I usually am in my sewing room every day.
I have one Iam working on for my grandson ,Another I had posted last week ,Looking to make it bigger so looking for fabric to match, Doing hand embroidery for another On to block 2 Then about 4 in the draw ( ihave brough ) waiting !!!!
That sounds like a big project! The one I am working on now - I am in the process of making it larger too.
I love to quilt I just finished two quilts for my granddaughter to be born in November. I have finished 3 quilt tops for Christmas presents.
I love to quilt. I love the creative process. Been quiltng about 30 years. I have started my first embroidered quilt. I have only been embroidering about 3 years. Please post your quilt in projects. We would all love to see it.
I love to quilt - it does take a lot of time though. I have been doing embroidery for less than a year. I am very new to it, but very excited to learn more.
Joye, I have only made two - both rag quilt and I want to and am willing to learn how to do it with any one that is willing to show me or share with me how to do it. Hehehe! I can't wait to view the one that you are working on - does it have any embroidery work?
If you know what kind you want to make, you can e-mail me and I would be glad to help you. I am doing the embroidery right now for it. I want to get it finished this week.
I love quilting. I start a new quilt every week :-) Honestly, I love planning and starting (I do finish some) but have lots of fun just being creative... All my friends and children and grandchildren have received quilts. Have lots of finished tops waiting for a reason to be finished. No guilt!
It is a lot of fun. I love it when you are shopping and you just have to buy fabric, you don't know why, you just do. Then when you find the perfect quilt for it - it is a ball.
I made my first quilt in 1996 and I loved doing it. It was a queen and came out pretty nice. I will find a picture and post it if anyone wants to see it. I've made comforters as well. I think quilting is a lot of fun. I have all the material for a king quilt now if only I can find time to make it. I want to do an emboridery quilt too.
I would love to see it. It does take a lot of time, I will agree with you. But it is worth it. :o)
Joyce, I would love to see it and any others in the project section - any time you want to share them with us. *4U
I've been quilting for many, many years and I love it!;)
I have been for probably close to 20 years - that sounds like a long time.
