it is beautiful none the less. Hope you find your pattern.;)
This is just beautiful. I have done many pineapple crochet things but alass, now that my hands are crippled with arthritis it is just too hard for me to do the cotton thread things. I'd like to do a skirt like I've seen at several catalog sites using the embroidery machine and the #40 cotton thread. So I continue to look for a machine emb design similar to this to try. I have most of my mother's old crochet books from the 30's and 40's I'd be happy to look for the pattern when you show the picture. Beverly
This was a freebie at Stitch Delight, and it is done is sections. Sure you could use it. I had not thought about using 40 Wt cotton. will have to try one with that. Thanks for usggestion that.
This is beautiful, even if it's not like your grandmother's. Great job!
Beautifully stitched!!! Now I know the results...I have the eight sections done and need to disolve and stitch them together. I'm giving it to my Mom for her B-Day in Dec. I've got a hummingbird for her collection to place on it. She did alot of hand embroidery which she can't do anymore. Great job!
I would recommend that when you stitch it together, that you stitch it on WSS and then disolve again. I had problem with the stitches wanting to go into the feed dogs. Just a little hint for you.
Thanks, so much for the tip on stitching it together...it is very delicate and I see how that would happen.
It is very pretty, my mother was always crocheting, until almost her last days, that was her passion. I'm going to post a handkerchief that was made for my greatgrandmother's 15 years old party, this hanky is well over 100 years old.***4U
I like this better than crochet. It whips up so much fast. lol It's is lovely. :-) *4u
nicely done. But nothing is like what grandma use to make. *4u
Beautiful. Reminds me of a table cloth I crocheted many years ago.
I have never been able to use the fine threads when I crochet, and sure would love to have had my mothers crocheted table cloth.
This is lovely. i hav crocheted many a pineapple doily. Post your grandmothers. It's just possible I may have the design somewhere among my many books *
If you do, i would love to know the name of it. I wonder if some of the digitizers that do FSL doilies (ie; Stitch Delight, A stitch a Half, etc) would do something like that?
