I have the same problem you do with the top /bottom fill...I hate to have to sit there and manually watch and "help" it but as others said it is cheaper than the prewound..and it seems to hold more than my machine winds...so I take the time and usually wind about 5/10 at a time. :) *4U
I had some trouble with the winding even, than I realized I had not pulled the spindel all the way up that the thread fits on. Now that I do that has worked well for me. Hugs and aflower.
I have a side winder and have had no prob with it at all however when windingthe bobbin I make sure the thread is not comming straight up from the tension spring i travel it up past the bobbin storage pins. tostart a bobbin you should always thread the cotton uo through one of the holes and hold till it takes grip and always make sure the spring on the bobbin is lined up with the groove other wise can strain the winder even on your machine.
I've not been happy with mine either too loose and uneven.
I have a sidewinder and I really have had no problems . So I bought 3 of my friends one for their Birthday. A flower for you.
Wasn't too happy with the way it wound the bobbins, haven't bothered to use it, find it just as easy to use the bobbin winder on my machine...
I tried a SideWinder, and even though I love the idea, it wound the bobbins backwards for the Husqvarna machine I have, so I returned it. It also wound loosely, and I like the bobbin thread tight. *4U
I have this problem with all my machines and they are not sidewinders
Thank you for your information! I LOVE the pre-wound bobbins but they are so expensive at the rate I am using them. I wish there was some sort of recycling prgram that you could send them back for a refill! I would pay to do that.... :)
