I just bought a can of Dritz @ JoAnn's It was $14.00 reg. price but it was 50% off plus an additional 10% off the total so it cost me w/ tax about $7.00 The can of Dritz had 2 oz more in the can than the Sulky It was the Labor day sale. I used it twice tonit=ght on some stretchy polo shirts held the fabric well didn't notice any build up on the needle.
I use 505 or sulky kk2000, and usually buy it at Joann's.
Amazon sells 505 Spray and Fix for 11.39 per can.
No need to baste by hand, or Use adhesives, when I have offered to create basting stitches (free) for anyone who would like to email me with their internal hoop measurements (in inches) and format you require, but please email me as I'm currently too busy to have to search for emads. Hugs n roses, Meganne
Thank you meaganne I got your basting stiches(very nice of you to do for all of us),but want to try this method too.*4u
I like Sulky KK2000, although I have never tried 505. I used the Dritz but didn't like it (too gummy)...
The Sulky you can get for 50% off when Joann has their Notions wall sale.
I can not help you but just a note -- I am allergic to many chemicals so I just "float" materials or baste them by hand to hold in place and so far it's working for me.
I have bought all of them and see little difference. Use your Joann coupon here and feel good that you saved money. Love you!!
I bought Dritz at JoAnn's but I haven't had the chance to use it yet. Any comments on that one? *4all
I use Quilt Basting Spray. They have it at JoAnns for around $13.00 or at Wal-Mart for around $7.00. I haven't had any problems with it, just don't stray it by your machine or anything you don't want sticky. Hope this helps.
I hooked up with a thread & notions supply company here in Canada. They provided me a product list that had several sprays in different price ranges. I bought 2 different ones (Madeira brand and a "no-name" brand) to compare to the 505 I was used to using. So far, for the price, the no-name is working just as well as the more expensive ones.
I just bought 505, and purchased it from ShoppersRule.com for 12.99 - don't know if that was good price, but compared to what was available around here I was satisfied.
505 has been cheaper at SHOPPERSRULE.COM very good product won't gum up your needle.
