I have used a few of his designs with no trouble at all. He had just what I was looking for for a top I was making. Months later on some of the Yahoo groups comments came up about his sites being bad, viruses, computer crashes etc. I don't know what is true and what isn't. I am suspecious of how ofter he changes his screen name in order to re-join groups in order to post ads. That is my red flag.

Personally, I don't know. My McAfee says it's a green site. It's not hugely popular, but there are no reported problems. I'm not sure where all the hype about mohammed being a bad guy came from, or why. I don't find a lot of use for the necklines, which are none the less beautiful. I've seen tutorials on the website that look like they might have been copied from other sites. People have said their computer crashed after going to that site, but that's hearsay. Some people go just anywhere and download every freebie they can find, so I wonder how they 'know' for sure where their problems came from, when they've been to 20 or 30 sites just downloading anything that says 'free'. I would personally be careful about downloading anything from anywhere. I know a lot of you have an addicition, and we joke about it, but for some it really is an 'addiction'. I always think about what I would use the design for, if I would actually sew it out, before I download anything. So many 'free' designs are really of no interest to me, nothing I would use. And I only go to trusted sites. My computer is more important to me than a million 'free' designs I won't ever use. So what to tell you about Mohammed, I don't know. I've been there, looked at designs, my MacAfee says it's green. They don't speak English well, but I don't know if that qualifies for making them a 'bad' site. I have only heard reports I think are 'hearsay', nothing definite. Good luck.

Google does list sites with bad site warnings and I've googled embroiderystars.com and google doesn't give a warning like it does for other bad sites. My machine and computer have been working just fine after using designs from about 5 of the bad sites for 10 months. No viruses, no identity theft...I was using them long before I came across all the fluff about him. Sorry, but ten months of personal experience says it is ok. If others want to beware, I don't have a problem with that, yet, I still think it is a shame if he didn't do anything.

I don't understand the virus warning. I've been downloading and using the designs from this Mohammed for months and my computer is just fine. Perhaps he has a bad reputation because some one got into a fight with him long ago and it has become a huge internet hoax. I'm not defending him. Just saying I've never had a problem and I've used his stuff for about a year now.

please be careful any warning is best to be aware not just your computa is at risk but also you machine as it is a computa as well. And some times the risk is spy ware as well. alway be alert to all.
