how cute, I am wishin I had lil ones to sew for, i don't think my teenage boys would wear this, second thought I can wait!!!!!flowers for the cuteness
This is so cute. If I had a little one around the house, I would make one of these. My 4 year old great granddaughter lives across the US from me. Too hard to figure out the right size for her. I can just see her in my mind's eye how cute she would be in a dress like this one. *4u
Who would have "thunk" it... ? A pillowcase dress? Very adorable! Great job... xoxo
It is just beautiful, very nice idea. I have the pattern but have not tried this yet.
This is adorable - how clever - can you explain how it is made or do you have instructions that I could get? Shirlene
I just did a search on google for "pillowcase dress pattern." It will bring up several different sites with patterns. Some of the patterns run the ribbon ties through the neck casing. However, I have read that this can be a choking hazard. Therefore, I chose a pattern that runs elastic through the neck. I'll see if I can find the link and post it!
Here are the dress lengths & sleeve patterns I use:

Here are the basic instructions I follow. I have changed her step 5. I use bias to finish the armholes and add the ribbon straps at the same time.

One other note: I have never made these out of a real pillowcase! I always look for cute material that matches whatever design I'm wanting to embroider/applique and then hem the bottom.
thank you my dear - that was so nice of you to include it here - I appreciate it.
