I don't there is a better way to take you mind off impending storms. We lose power so much when the storms come out way, I have to be off the computer. We are so glad you survived, and are doing well.

I pray for you that you remain safe. Where exactly are you. I'm from that area, so I will recognize city names. Please let me know. Thanks.

I see you asked in another post where I am from. I am in California right now, but everything I know and most relatives are in Houston, Deer Park, Pasadena, Channelview, and La Porte. All are right on the ship channel, where they say it is going to head directly up. I haven't talked to the family, so I know nothing about what is going on except what I hear on the news. Right now it scares me. I know that native Texans are a bit more relaxed when it comes to hurricanes, but it isn't as easy to have that attitude when you are so far away.

I rode out Alicia when I was young and slept through most of it since it hit at night. My dad tried to wake me up to see the trees bending over, but I didn't want to wake up. My parents rode out Carla, too. It just isn't the same when I am sitting here in CA just watching the news reports. PLEASE give me first hand updates when you can...

One of the many hurricanes that I survived while living in Cuba was Flora in 1962...My greatgrandparents house was used as a shelter and they were over 300 people there...It was so much fun...but then I was only 12 years old...
