I love cookbooks and collecting them, love gardening, and collecting my pattern of antique sterling silver flatware. Since I retired and no longer have even a part time job , I just dream about the sterling pieces that I don't have. I should devote more time to clear out my sewing room, but I am happy with it cluttered. I know where most things are, not all things. When I have guest over, I close the sewing room door. What are your other passions or addictions?? Let's share!!!

My, you certainly have had a interesting life. I may be wrong, but I'll bet your husband was a traveling man. Some of your hobbies indicate home alone. I too, like to dance. Met my sweetie at the Hilton ballroom where they had Fri, night singles dances. Took me 5yrs to get the courage to go.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone but I HATE CAMPING..had to do it as a teenager with 7 bro & sis in a pull behind 26ft. and EVERYBODY slept inside. had no privacy or room :( I love to knit...I take it everywhere..my kids say that if they ever make it to the pro's the camera will show me knitting when they make a home run or touchdown. My hubby said I can't take it on the motorcycle. BUT if we ever get a 3 wheeler I will sit in the back and knit (saw it in Sturgis in 2000. XX's and ***'s for all.

I like to crochet. It is usually for Project Linus blankets. I always have one in the making for when we travel more than an hour from home but in familiar places. If I've never been there before I like to watch the area around me and see what's it like.

I love to spend time with my family. We enjoy the outdoors all year long. With four wheelers, horses, hunting, camping, fishing, hiking . . . we enjoy getting away from it all.

I love to sew my own clothes, used to make the boys shirts, and husbands suits. Now I sew for me and the grandkids. :) Love to garden. I also make ceramic dolls. Thats why my DH bought me an embroidery machine. I was always wanting the dresses to be fancier. Never found lace I really liked and didn't like having to stitch on embroidered designs you can purchase. I also love to read.

A real tailor. I made my husband a Leisure Suit{1970's} for you children, and he said it looked like that character that Jackie Gleason played on T.V. It did look bad, all of them looked bad then. Polyester!!!

I guess there are lots of wonderful places to camp around Va. Have you ever made it over the mountains into the Great Smokey Mt.National park. My home town is there, near where Dolly Parton comes from.

My husband is a very small man. He had to go the the boys dept for clothes. Didn't like the pockets, let alone the style. So I took a men's tailoring class and started to make them.

My newest addiction is this website and the links provided for other sites with free desgns. I probably have more than I'll ever use. I've been sewing since I could hold my first needle. I also love crocheting, gardening, and taking pictures of my grandchildren flowers and nature. I outgrew my sewing room so I moved downstairs and took over part of my husband's workshop.

My goodness Kay, thank you first of all - I love to go tandem bike riding with my dear husband - we occasionally will get the family to come along as well. We ride a trial that runs along one river and that flows into a second river - it is about 15 miles one way and then we travel back along the same trial to go home. One day soon - that trial will be extended and we can get on it about 1/2 mile from our home and it will be a 25 mile ride one way - we sure hope that they get that finished while we live in this apartment to take full advantage of it - can you believe a 50 mile ride? This is a view with the tandem in the foreground along the trial about midway - that mountain in the distance is at the other end of the trail and that is where we start and then return to. It was rather dry in Utah at this time of year, too. We first started riding when I got Osteoarthritis as a means to keep my knees working. You wouldn't want to view me from the backside of this bike - Hehehe! When we ride with the family - my DH and I set the pace and the younger ones do have some trouble keeping up with us - until we hit the huge long hill - we take our time but they stop at the top and we don't and that ride down the hill is so well deserved that we don't hit the brakes very often - until we are about 1/2 mile on the other side. Hehehe. Shirlene

This is wonderful exercise and relief for stress. I've never been on a bike built for two. With a trip like you subscribed, do you take lunch? You know me, always thinking about food!!!

shirlener88 by shirlener88 14 Sep 2008

We have a location that is almost at the end of the trail - that we like to stop and get a salad at and watch people walk along the trail - we do take drinks and our cell phone and the camera - Hehehe! We do have places that we are always stop to rest and relax.

You sound a lot like me, and I know that's plenty to keep us busy. We're not into RVing yet but hope to be. I don't hunt other than with a camera, but still go tent camping once in a while.

This is the cutest little camper. Tell us what is inside?

debleerl by debleerl 14 Sep 2008

That is such a cute camper. What brand is it, and what's inside?

clawton by clawton 14 Sep 2008

I agree. This is the cutest little thing. Just big enough to sleep and get out of the weather if necessary.

pafhen by pafhen 14 Sep 2008

ok cutee's we HAD a 25ft fifth-wheel with one long slidout. We thought our daughter would take it up and go with us but she does not like to camp. Soooo we decided to get what WE wanted. I saw one of these at a campground and said that will be my next camper. Well here we are and love it more than what we had. A huge queen bed, that the center turns into a table with sofa cusions around in a U shape, 2 bunner stove top, sink, fresh water tank and cabinets to store all your goodies and ref. No bathroom or shower, but you know we never used the one in the 5th wheel, always used the bath house. So we don't miss that, does have a porta potty for emg. times. We stay outdoors all the time camping, cooking over the fire in black pots and a campfire going all the time. fun fun fun!!! It is a called a Tab, that is where tabadaisy came from. This photo is taken on the Natchez Trace. Oh yea, cool cat air and heat and then a furnace.

This looks like the little Serro Scotty we had when I was a kid, and into the 70's. Fun tiny trailer, loved it. We slept 4 in that li'l pup, cooked outside, and it had an icebox, not a fridge. You made me remember some very good times. Marji
