Ok, I guess Ike is coming to the Great Lakes. I have winds of 50 MPH, no rain yet, but my power flickered twice. I may not be on much longer if it goes, but I'll be back!! Take care y'all, Marji

Be safe Marji. We are having 50 mph winds here also, just north of Pittsburgh. I just drove home from work and it not an easy drive. Trees all over the place. No one on the road though. I would not have been out there if I didn't have to be. Seems to be dying down now.

Oh Marji - I have you in my heart and prayers - be safe and take care of you and the animals - they trust you so. Maybe it will blow over. I know that the cat hair will not blow out those windows, but that was quick thinking. Hehehe! Love to you!

'Ike's Spite' just passed over my Great Lake...We had 6 inches of rain in one night, another 8 inches the next day...I think I will be needing a boat to sleep in instead of a bed if we get much more rain!!
Stay dry Marji and pull the sump pump out of the closet to use..you are gonna need it!

No sump pump, Silver, no basement!!! HA! I finally got a house without a basement to flood, and I live in one of the highest places in Erie County. Um, that's why it's windy. Oh, well, hee hee hee. M

Be safe, please. Keep enough water and ice.Set your fridge to the coolest setting, that will make a difference.Stay inside and awya from the windows, keep water for the restroom, 99 % of the times the water will be turno off by the City and the most important thing: Pray a lot. God will send His Angels to protect you.**

I know about those basement floods, I had 3 of them. That's why this house doesn't have a basement!! Bummer, isn't it, yeah, we're spoiled. When my aunt & uncle lived here where I live now, when I was a kid, my cousin & I had to go to the pump to get water before Aunt Martha could boil it on the stove for our bath. How times change! Luv, M

Oh, just really windy, losing power is the worst if it happens. But I do have a few cats & a Sheltie in bed with me, they don't like the wind, little Quinn is scared. I have the windows open & it's really blowing. Was hoping it would blow the cat hair out & I wouldn't have to vacuum, hee hee hee. Oh, guess it would just get stuck in the screens, giggle. Thanks for caring, love you, Marji
