you need it for big designs but if your doing them........not needed *4u all
I think there r several with the magna hoops & they will be able to tell u about them. I've never used one but my daughter uses her's a lot *
I have one. Have not used it much, BUT I haven't been doing the small things jrob talked about. I did find you need to REALLY stablize well, or it will pucker. I got mine from Nancys Notions when they had free shipping & since I was out of state, there was no sales tax.
I don't do the small jobs either. I was primarily interested in the non hoop burn aspect, and implied ease of hooping. Thanks for your answer.
I have one. It is the system that uses the stabilizer hooped and a plastic insert with magnets holding it on, so no hoop burn (for michele921). It really depends on how much of what you want to do on it, you actually do. If you do lots of collar tips, men's cuffs, velvet, ribbons, yes, it is worth it. I don't use it that often, but in the instances that I do need, it is invaluable. You will have to decide as it is rather pricy.;)
Thanks. I have several hoops sizes already and haven't done any collar tips, etc. so It would probably be better to wait and see if I start doing that kind of embroidery to warrant the price when there are so many other things to buy.
I do not have one but have looked at them too. according to everyone that I have heard from they say if you are doing large designs a lot then it is worth it but most designs are 4x4 or 5x7 that I have seen. also you have to think about the hoop stability I know I have a larger hoop for my machine 9x14 I think and so far that has been the biggest I have needed. It does shake as it is working and I have to move to another notch 3 different times during run. So in my opinion weigh all your pros and cons as to why you want it.
The comments I have received have been very helpful. I haven't done any really large designs because I haven't started into design splitting yet so the designs I use fit well into the hoops I own. Since I haven't developed a constant skill in hooping I was looking for something easier and won't cause hoop burns. Things always look great in commercials so it's nice to be able to find out from other than someone trying to sell the product. I don't think I'll invest at this time and get something else on the wish list.
Wish my machine was compatible w/ magna hoop :(
Reading the answers I have received from others having a magna hoop is not all that it's as great as it looks. At the price I don't think I'll be buying it. Thanks for your interest.
