I do like the reminders or sometimes I would miss them. Either way is fine with me.If not in Community I might miss them . Just an opinion A flower for you
I don't know if this can offend somebody but I think the same way. I know also that some of our new cuties don't know the site very well so they don't know where the bookmark is or how it works, but I think we have to try to keep the things like they are. The Community to make questions, and announcements, etc., and the Bookmarks to post sites for free designs. But this is a free site so everybody does what thinks is the best. God Bless you all. Flower and XoXo
I agree with you, the reminder are great if it was not because of them I would have missed some really nice designs. I do believe that when people find new sites that they will like to share they should post them in the bookmarks sections which is the intended area to be posted, specially if there is many of them It does get kind of anoying sometimes. *2U
No offence taken, but if there was no reminder I know I would miss out. This is the place to be :)
Please continue as U have tolgamum, most things posted n community r short termed & I would probably miss a lot if it were not posted n community. You r definitely an asset to this community so keep on with what U r doing *
So sorry if this question offended anyone - it was not my intent to do so...and yes, my "senior memory moments" do rely gratefully on the reminders given in Community, but I was attempting to find out the correct places to post or find specific information on the site. Thank you all for your forbearance.
No offence taken at all - just wanted to let u all know why I post where I do! *4U!
There are repeats, but they are easily skipped over. I like the reminders on the different alphabets and heads up on updates. I wouldn't change a thing. I don't find the Bookmarks very useful at all. Projects and Community are the places that I spend most of my time at.
I am another one who like to be reminded and don't mind it being in community...I just skip over the ones I don't think I'm interested in...But with all the viruses going around I'm becoming more careful of where I search. THANX to all of you for helping those of us who are new and Computer Illiterate like myself. I'm grateful for any help that you all give me. :) *4 YA ALL
I agree with bikermom on this one - a lot of the design links/tips put in community are only valid for a short time. When they are put in bookmarks they quickly become 'dead links'. I personally don't use the bookmark pages - there are too many and they are repeated, but I do read community posts and appreciate the 'heads up' for designs.
I would also like them in the "bookmark", Why have something that is not used?? Hugs and a flower.
I never knew about Bookmarks and still don't quite understand what thaT and really all the rest of the Cute website is all about! I just thought it would be logical to post a freebie link under " free etc designs in Community so that others would see them there!
I always try and go back as far as possible to see if the info that I want to post has already been posted BUT at times there seems to be a glitch - perhaps a time delay because of where I am I don't know - but I post my info and then when I go back the next day my info is and all of a sudden there is similar info from someone else that was never there posted previously! WHERE it was before I have no idea! It also happened when I posted info and then it was there one min and then gone! I reposted it and a day later it showed up so then it was there TWICE! Go figure!
So now I don't know where to post so perhaps I should just not post at all as I really don't want to annoy people by posting in the wrong place or duplicating info! Been doing this for not so long so it is no big deal for me to quit now! I enjoyed sharing whilst it lasted though!
Flowers* for you all!
Happens to all of us dear, please don't stop posting...At some of our ages we might miss it the first time! Bookmarks was originally for us to share sites, but then it became the norm to put it in community when it was a short term offer.
I am greatful for the posts and reminders in community as there are sooo many to go thru in bookmarks.I am just now noticing and learnig to use the tags like, freebies, tips, ect when I post a question, and hopefully that will help folks find what they are looking for faster.*4u
It doesn't bother me..........I skip over if it is a repeat.
I find that I do not use the bookmark section because it became too large with many postings of the same thing. I don't mind the reminders about the freebies but do think that one should read the postings before doing so. That way it would not be posted more than once. I've seen the same post 5 times in one day. I made that suggestion awhile back but everyone at that time thought it was fine.
I see the bookmark section as a place to go to find new sites.
I am one who has only been to bookmarks once, and I enjoy being reminded on alphas and freebies. Thanks to all who remind us!
I appreciate all the freebies posted here. I do use the bookmarks, too, but not as often.
I am also grateful for the reminders and announcements. Since I have limited time, I scan the posts, when I can, and read only the ones that I am interested in. I think that if the announcements of new freebies and alphas were posted on the bookmarks only, I would miss them. Bookmarks I use for new sites I find or want to share. Not necessarily for freebies, but for the quality of designs, projects, instructions, etc...
I guess we are all different! I don't use the bookmarks as there were so many of them & after the trouble MaryMoore had, I sorta avoided them! I do keep up with several alphabets, but sometimes forget to check & a reminder helps me get it before it's changed and gone forever! So am thankfully to the folks that keep me up to date!
I agree, except for the reminders of the alphas people are collecting. I go past all the posts, but sometimes I miss lots of good information, or real questions, because I just don't get to the pages in time. I guess I thought that's what the bookmark section was for, too, and I don't go there because I don't collect every freebie available. It's ok, I'm not upset or anything, y'all do what you need to do. But for my part, more important things often get missed because of all the freebie posting. My best to you all, Marji
I went past this but couldn't get it off my mind. Please don't mind that others post freebie sites, heaven knows we all love em. Most are short term and would wind up being useless if posted in bookmarks. If you really don't want the info you don't have to read the blog. I love the way we all share our findings with each other. I hope everything remains as it is and hope that I haven't offended anybody with my thoughts.
Yes I think the Freebies posts are getting out of hand, especially in view of the high Virus risk around right now. Fair enough to post updates for weekly collectables, but even those are posted several times because people don't check to see if it has been posted previously by someone else.
Still, This is the Community noticeboard so who are we to say what should and shouldn't be posted here?
hugs n roses, Meganne
If it is not a new site book marks will tell you if it is posted and here people like to tell if there are up dates to a site etc.As many are collecting sets.or alpha's
IMO I always thought bookmarks should be for those sites that you want to remember and frequent. I never thought posting a freebie in community was improper especially since if you look to the left under popular topics free, freebie, freebies are under there. If we weren't posting those freebies here then a search in the popular topic would result in no matches found.
I totally agree with you, tolgamum.I too was under that impression
