Hi babs & welcome to the cute site, Embird is what I have, don't know what I'd do without it. I do not know a lot about all the others only what I have heard from other cuties there's good SW out there & not so good & u can spend a lot of money fast. U will be given facts on several kinds simply weigh the odds, check them out, embird lets u have a 30 day free trial to check it out with no strings attached if u don't like it U don't get it simple as that. the choice is up to u my dear & again a warm welcome to the cute fmly

When I bought my HusqvarnaViking machine, I bought the software of the same brand and upgraded to 3D Pro, but not yet to the new 4D, which seems to have a number of extras. I find it easy to use, but then I'm used to it. I'd strongly recommend going to different websites and see what the software packages cost. Think about what you want to do with it and what you really need, compare prices, user friendliness and so on. And enjoy using it!

I really like Embird because it is very easy to use and like everyone else said, there are many tutorials on Embird. I bought Embird online and have not had any problems with it. I have Pfaff Creative Software too, but I find it difficult to use.
Embird is available at Secrets of Embroidery, http://www.secretsof.com/content/... and at the Embird site, http://www.embird.com/
Hope this helps.

I'm definitely an Embird fan... I had never digitized (I do have an AutoCAD background however that deals with line drawings), and after going through Carolyn Keber's tutorials, was able to start creating away... you can view my website and see some of the designs I've created with the software. A few of the ladies on CUTE use Embird and find that the support is wonderful and software is easy to learn. Granted Babs, you will have a learning curve as with any tool.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WITH ANY DIGITIZING PROGRAM, INVEST IN GOOD TUTORIALS... There are a lot of free Embird tutorials, but the ones that I have bough FAR exceed what's handed to you for nothing. :-)

Good luck friend...and welcome to CUTE!

Depends on what you want to do with it, I guess. Software can be from several hundred to several thousand dollars. I got my Dititizer Pro when I got my Janome machine, and I bought them both from a dealer who gives me tons of free lessons and support. I would personally not buy anything like machines or software just from a website, but that's because I'm an old bag and need to talk to people, look them in the eye. You younger gals have no problems with the web stuff, so may not be such an issue with you. Ask Teri, too, (Simplyrosie), I think she bought her Embird off the web, and has done very well with it. They seem to have the most tutorials, if you can do that sort of thing (they drive me nuts, not a long trip, by the way). But then, I'm good at learning software. Do a lot of research before you spend the bucks, though, so you get what you really want and need. Best of luck, Marji
