I have the same problem. I use Bernina Artista, the format is ART but my machine uses PES so when I save my design I do it in ART but when I have to change the format the colors are completely different. Now I know everybody has the same issue. Thank you for asking. Flower and XoXo
Letvia, I have found that if I download in anything other than PES, I can use Wilcom to save as a PES and the colors don't change. If I download in another format and then save as a PES in my Masterworks progam, it changes the colors. Just a tip when downloading in a format other than what your machine uses.
I do have PEDesign and I do not understand your problem... I never got that issue. I use the standard Brother Embroidery colors in the color chart. I tune it myself on my machine when embroidering. I have a PR600 and I specified also that I use Brother Embroidery colors, however, I am using another brand. BR. PAt
I have no clue on how to do it. I think is just something that happends by default on when you convert the designs. I have happened to me and I know is frustrating. I usually just do my own color chart and keep it with the design for reference.
Like ricky says I usually do my own thing with the colors be cause I convert a lot & the colors r never the same. Plus I seldom have all the colors that's required anyway *4U
Janome Digitizer Pro has a thread chart. It's default is Janome colors, but when I digitize I put in the RA, Floriani & Isacord colors I actually have, and can print out the color chart. It keeps the colors when I convert from JAN, the Janome Digitizer extension, to JEF, my sewing machine extension. Of course, my sewing machine doesn't tell me the correct color, but I have the laptop on by the machine with the design up whenever I'm sewing anyway. I do know that when I get PES designs, I always have to adjust the colors, and some of the other machine formats do give me black & blue flowers, hee hee hee. Just one of those things, I guess. I always just eye it up and use the colors I want anyway, I don't care that much about color charts. Best of luck to you. Marji
Thanks. Sounds like a common problem. I also have my laptop next to my machine so I have the correct colors to stitich. I don't usually download color charts either but when submitted to the Deisgns By Cuties it requires a color chart. That is why I was asking.
Oh, I didn't know it was actually "required". Could you just put in basic colors, like 'red', 'green', brown, etc.? Or do you have to use Madeira colors? I guess that's why color charts don't impress me, I never have the thread brand they specify anyway. Good luck on this one, hope to see your 'cookies' soon! My best, Marji
Just click on any colour. That is what I did. I just clicked on one colour and it worked. I don't worry about colour charts either, just like lbrow, I don't always have those colours.
I know exactly what you mean - my software does that too and I hate it! I spend all that time choosing colors and no matter what format I save it in it changes the colors. Only way my colors save correctly is in the file I save that I can go back and edit the design but never does in the file format I need to stitch - I use PES but have also tried to save in all others too - same problem! I use Viking 4D Pro Software. I end up just making a list of colors I originally choose.
I saved the color chart from the digitized file and it saves the correct colors.
I find this happens when I download some, they turn out different. The answer is to work through the colours and check them on the box at the top of the windows marked 1-3
it gives you the list of colours and you can check they are right then save as PES to Machine or file, on computer.
sometimes if you use different thread chart they will turnout different, I do use the brother chart as I can workout the colours easier, but I do there are others in the software.
Hope this is helpful, have a Flower, in the right colour
I'm not following you. What box on Windows marked 1-3? I use Masterworks digitizing program.
That happens when you convert. Every digitizing programme have their own colour threads and when you convert the programme tries to match the colours as best as it can to that particular format. When it can't find a matching colour it will take what it thinks should match. Therefore you can't get an exact match and sometimes even can end up with some really weird colour combinations eg a green and purple dog.I don't think there is much you can do about it.
I have ended up with some funny colours in the horses I digitized on my web site when I converted those to pes.
I don't think it makes a great deal of difference because everyone uses different colours when they stitch out the designs, anyway.
Thanks. I wanted to post them in the Designs By Cuties. Will have to try different colors so they at least look better.
If you stitch out one or two in the colours you want, then you can post a photo of your stitch out on Design by Cuties and it will look good. Most people do realize that colours change in the conversion, from one format to another.
Thanks, that would be best idea. I have saved the color chart from the BLF file so that they are correct.
