I had lots of thread clippings & remembered lbrow's projects putting them to good use & thought I'd experiment with a bookmark. I encased the clippings in between two layers of WSS and hooped it. Embroidered the FSL bookmark design (www.SecretsofEmbroidery.com) No 2010, using another floating layer of WSS. The clippings didn't prevent the design stitching out without problems.

Thanks lbrow for comments & for the idea. The colours don't show up well in the photo' because the leaves at the bottom are mainly green (which I admit I clipped extra 'specially) I am pleased with the result - it's different.

Jean, looks great - now were you satisfied with the bookmark - after you washed out all the stablizer? It sure did give color to that bookmark.

Thanks Shirlene. I chose a design which isn't too open and also crossed the clippings over each other so that there were no long lines of clippings in the openwork after stabiliser was washed away. Cutting the excess from outside the design was quite a task. All in all, I am satisfied with the result.
