I complained about my recent electric bill and here's the response :

Dear Customer,
Just a little note to let you know we understand your
anger in the recent price hike. But it should be noted
that you have no choice. We are a big company and you
will pay what we tell you. You have no choice We have
the power, you need the power. So sad....too bad.
We have enclosed a little picture to help
outline our response. Have a nice day and keep those
checks coming!

Sincerely,

Your Local Power Co .

Brn2, Even if this was not written to you it is how they do business, and they are saying this without writing this to each of us. Hugs and aflower.

If somebody really got this note, that person should first contact the highest posible executive from that company, or the newspapers, the person responsable for that answer will be inmediately terminated, and it will, I know my sister works for Reliant Energy, and they will never send a note like that to anyone, it is not professional.

That can't be true...If it is I would be publishing it in the paper and letting everybody know they should cut back any way they can :)

This sounds more like a joke. But if for real they are really arrogant. True, we basically don't have a choice but I'm glad I don't live in you area with that attitude present!

I thought this is something thats a joke. As in some kind of joke we can see. But how can this be the reply to a customer? Its the truth but its too blunt?

Just like in my country, no one really bother to write in to complain. If we do, then we see explainations like 'profits','high rising costs' etc etc. They have all sorts of reasons to tell u why they increase it. But they forget that they are doing a social kind of service. Something normal people or everyone needs. like public transport/electricity n water etc.

U will be shocked to learn that in my country, the co. has introduced something that u pay upfront (i dont know its to send $ over or slot some $ in) to keep the meter running in advance! thats for the lower income group but thats so sad! so no $ really must use candles etc.

Gosh, you need a generator to make your own power.Where do you live? I am sure the newspapers would love to print your story. This is so wrong that they speek to you this way. I have been carefull and now my bill is down by $100.00 AUS. We are billed every twelve weeks. Could not sleep its 3am in Australia. ************s 4U

That was very rude to answer you in that manner; that's uncalled for. I'd forward that little message onto a few higher ups in your area; maybe a state representative, also. Sometimes, we just have to take things a step further. Good luck..Reddish

Wow !!!! How unfeeling. I am in shock. Although I guess it is true. You are a person and you should be treated with the same respect they demand. Solar, wind whatever here we come. I'm sorry they are treating you that way. A flower for you.
