Personally after all the rolls I've done. I think the cheaper does better. The softer tp is the more the stitches sink down & u almost need WSS to see it. the 12 4 $5.00 does beautifully & it's only 4 decoration anyway. *4U

As I said BigLots TP 12 pk dbl roll $5 and I bet a big name company makes it. You must understand I'ma poor so every penny counts. Also I use TP to test designs, if the design is bad I still have good TP if the design is good I have better TP

Hey, maybe this is where the saying "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" applies!! I always wondered why anyone would think they could, or where you'd get a sow's ear anyway, but I digress. I suspect the stabilizer would affect the embroidery quality more than anything. But if you're doing gifts, the better quality would just look nicer, display your work better. Besides, you would probably have far more money in stabilizer and thread than you would in one roll of TP. Does anyone tuck a fabric softener sheet inside the hole in the roll, to add a bit of fragrance? Good luck, Marji

The beginning of your answer's worth a good giggle. Would that sow's ear make softer leather than the rest of her hide, I now wonder. Hehe. The rest is sound advice. The better the quality, the better the look.

Don't think it matters. Emb. Library suggests that you use cut-a-way stablizer on the back. I noticed that if you do lettering on it the small does not do as well.

I've done lots of TP emb. I don't think it really matters unless you plan on selling them.

Haven't ever done the embroidery on the TP but any of the tutes usually say to use a good quality paper, I guess if you are going to put the work into it, you would want to use a good one...

Sweetie, I just make covers for them, so I can't answer, but I have discovered that each brand is different in diameter and width as well. Somehow they manage to all fit the tp holder. Amazing technology!!!!

I have used both and haven't had a problem. I just prefer the quilted for the added appearance.
