I'm addicted to FSL too. Try samples from Criswell, sadiasews, and suebox as their quality is the best. I've had some other freebies not stitchout well. When in doubt, sandwich some organza or tuil in between two layers of water soluable stabelizer. Make sure you are using the type that looks like fabric, not the clear kind that's used for topping. Also, use the same thread in the bobbin. The free bowl from suebox is fantastic, if you make 6 pieces instead of 5 you can make a doiley.

Hi Debleerl, many thanks!!! Suebox designs are beautiful. I gotta try that bowl! I got a stabilizer that is the clear kind, I wonder if that is why my firt FSL is full of holes. Thanks again for the tips!!!

I use the clear type for FSL, but an 80 micron thick one instead of the usual 20. That works OK for me.

That is good to know, thank you!!!

I like to use a small needle on mine, but found out the hard way that it doesn't always work, many broken needles later. So I did switch to the larger needle and occasionally will use a third layer of stablizer. There are some good turtorials on that web site, emblibrary.

I made one FSL, finally. I started with one layer, it didnt work out, and the second one, with two layers, but I think a third layer I would get a better result. Thanks for the advice, Sarahrose.

Thank you Marymoore!!! I am going to try one FSL now. Through a hard way, I found out that wash-away stabilizers are not iron-on. :( Thanks again!!!
