Here is an advent calendar that I made for Christmas last year. I had seen an advert in a patchwork magazine for this tree and really liked it. I had a stippled square amongst my designs and added the appliqued hearts and the numbers, then I zig-zagged them together to form the tree shape. I finished the edge off with binding and added the star to the top. Under each number I attached a piece of thin organza ribbon and I tied chocolates to each one.

33575I like this Shirley, I always make one for my childrens classes, I have done 7 so far. This is a great idea, otherwise this year I was thinking of stockings with numbers on a washing line.
