You got the best to respond with your answers, so I hope that you are as hooked on FSL as some of us are. I normally use two layers - and place in opposite directions. Hope we get to see your project soon. = 10 colors? Sounds about like the stained glass on that I did not too long ago.
kharriman, it sounds like it is working now - but make sure you use the strong mesh type looking wss from now on - or you will start thinking this cost too mush to use - lol. Always use a new needle and I prefer the 12-14 needle on my FSL - it the design is very dense - I might try the smaller one and an extra layer of wss. Hope to see your project soon.
I got it done. But i'm not happy with it because the wash away pulled away from the design in a couple of spots. I'll make another one later. ***4U
OH my - I have had that done - it is because of the pulling on the stabilizer - do try it again - you might really enjoy it and believe me - I still have times - that things like that happen - as many FSL items that I have made - good luck with the next one and amaze those people with a great item the next time you show up. Isn't it fun?
It works better is you have several layers of the sulvy, I personaly don't like it, I like vilene and even with vilene sometime I use two layers, and slow your machine down. The sulvy is good when you are doing towels, velvet, even felt.****
Don't forget your needle, if it's blunt that wont help you either. I like the titanium needles for embroidery, don't appear to get blunt so quickly.
if u are using the sanan wrap stuff and it is a lot of stitches in the design it will rip and tear i threw my saran looking stuff out and got vilene wss the fabric looking kind
It's working SO much better now. I am on the 4th or 5th color now. THANK YOU!
tension might be to tight. but it will cut the stabilizer to a point. this is where i keep a plastic bag of reamants of stabilizer to add on top of the stitch out.
Definitely try using a couple more layers of WSS. Also, check your needle. It may be you need to switch to a new or even smaller size.
Is it the WSS that looks like saran wrap? Or the WSS that is fiberous sorta like a dryer sheet? If it is the plastic saran wrap kind try using several sheets of it, and from now on buy the fiberous kind. If it is the fiberous kind one sheet is good enuff.

What kind are of WSS are you using? The clear kind is a topping. The mesh, looks like a light white fabric, you need to use at least 2 layers. Another problem, might be the density of the stitches, if they are thick and tight, they might tear through, what's the stitch count?
Are you using the smooth WSS or the "fabric" like WSS? and are you using 2 sheets? Those are the things you need to do and also, place the sheets going in opposite directions as in north /south and the other east/west.
First I used 1 sheet, then I thought maybe 2 sheets would make a difference. It didn't. I am also having a problem with the thread breaking.
