SE recongizes almost all .pes. It appears that it only sees VIP, HUS and DST. We spent hours converting designs for a quilt because most of them were .pes.

You don't have to do a thing if you have downloaded the latest upgrade. Go to the Viking site and update the machine. IF she can't do this, have her call her dealer. Until I finally learned how (and got fast internet) I always took my machines out to the store and it only took a minute to update. In the new updates it makes it possible for the Diamond to read any files. Seems it was having trouble with the pes. No longer. Just sewed out a pes one today. There have been 2 updates; she needs to get them both the way I understand it. BUT I haven't done the last one yet, and the ability to recognize PES must have been on the first. Hope this helps!

By the way, if she hasn't been to sewmuch4retirement.com, be sure and check it out! Click on "tips" and scroll down and there you will find tips and instructions all about the new Diamond. Great site. Tips for all the Viking machines. Janice Henning is a jewel! She really helps so many people!

Thank you very much. She is 3 hours away from here and no dealer there. But we will have to check out the updates. She probable got an up message. she is very new to computer and embroidery so I'm trying to help. It is hard to do long distance.

is your sis in a yahoo group for her diamond I am in one for my D1 my D1 converts them for me too. I have never had to convert a design yet I usually open designs in viking 4D software but before I got it my disk manager did convert them hope you find out *4U

Thank you. No yahoo group for her. She is just now coming into the computer era. If not for the embroidery machine she still would not be. We're working on it.

The machine automatically converts all formats except possibly art. At the bottom of the page in the second row is a slot for telling the maching to convert All Embroidery Files. I have had mine less than a month but have no trouble. Do not know if this is in the instruction book. I would give a call to the dealer for further instructions. Love my machine.

Thank you. We will be back with her at Thankgiving so maybe we can look for what you are talking about. Are you talking about the view screen when it first comes on? Unfortunetly I don't have it to look at. I do need to visit the store to get supplies so maybe they can show me. THANKS
