Interesting information on this site. Lots of ads, but it's a tourist thing, poke through to find some nice pix, etc. Have fun, Marji

Macon, Ga. Also has a cherry blossom festival every last week of Mar & first of April, with thousands & thousands of Yoshino cherry trees blooming, along with a huge craft Fair & events going on every day of the 2 weeks. It starts with a huge parade.

Thank you Marji - I did know about them being a gift from Japan - perhaps - one of my grandparents realized how important that would be one day - thank you for sharing the site - wished I could have read about the history, too. Hehehe!

That is something! I didnt know that they were a gift from Japan. There are many sites giving information where and when is the best day to go see the cherry blossoms. Here's one of them: http://www.mapple.net/sp_sakura/
Marji, I want to thank you for sharing that with us. How sweet of you. Hugs, Yoriko
