Just thought you may like to know about a great product for lace making - Rinseaway Non Woven Vilene sold by EMSS Brisbane 07 33916477 email cpalmer@emss.com.au - I got it at a craft show a couple of months ago and I like you had been having trouble with lace projects - now I don't and I only use one layer of it. Another thing I always make sure my needle isn't old or blunt when I do it.

they have the best threads too, I always go to their Stones Corner shop to get them and they are very reasonable...

OK Sheryl, so what you are saying - you both used the same WSS, different thread - one is firmer than the other - could be one washed out more of the WSS than the other - the difference in the thread could also be it - the only way that you will know for sure - is she try it on your machine and you are hers - only one of you rinse them out - so you will know - if it is that, too. I like my FSL softer myself - unless it is a bowl or a item that needs the stiffness - I like the feel of the thread - that is now a lace object. Hope this helps - if you had not already decided from all the others comments already. Hehehe!

Thats a good idea Shirlene, my friend has always commented on how soft my fsl is compared to hers, and like you I would prefer it for the bowl etc to be the firmer !!!!

Well another thing could be a determining factor would be how the two of you blot and dry your items - I myself blot mine between a terry toweling and then lay flat on a service and blow them dry - quick and fast - done is a couple minutes - others might not blot out as much water and lay flat on a surface and allow to air dry - which might also give it a stiffer feel. Hehehe!

hi cheryl the only thing I can think of if one of you washed it away for longer, I have done this with bookmarks some for 30 sec and some for 1 minute I find the 30 sec are way stiffer....

I'll bet if you both have different machines that could be the main difference. Altho most of the machines are terrific, some are better than others.

Same here it was either the thread or maybe she did not wash hers as much as you did (that could make a big difference)
