Wow, I am so impressed - can't wait until your book comes out - would love to purchase a copy of it - I have a sewing machine and need to learn much more about to make things and sew some, not just embroidery. Hehehe!
Ssarner -
I HAVE to have a copy of this....I use women's pants soooo often. Kidding (we are friends) I like it a lot and it looks like a useful tool. Congrats!! Eric
I learned to draw patterns when I was in elementary school, and I made a book for that...Gosh, I never really gave it a real credit. Let us know when your book is available and thank you so much for the information, SSarner.
I hope you don't mind, I saved a copy of the picture for future reference. I've been sewing all my life, but never knew the names for things. I just make them. Never read a book about sewing and haven't taken a class since high school, until last year. Noew I'm catching up on terminology and learning to use new (and old) gadgets to make things easier. I'm looking forward to seeing your book.
thank you!!
i knew a lot of them.. except i thought pedal pusher and capris were the same thing!! where does clam digger fit into the lengths?? I think they are the same as pedal pusher??
good luck with the book!! i think it would be a very interesting and informative read!!
Thanks you and as always, I'm never too old to learn. Learned a few new names about pants. When your book is finished is it also available in Europe??? Please let me know and good luck with finishing your book. Lots of succes.
Some new names to me too. Keep us posted on your book, and when it's published - it's something I would like to learn.
TY Soi very useful info for all*
(myself excluded I can't sew a straight line to save my soul lol)
You are so humbled. If you have sewing machine, you are classified as can sew. Too late to change.
Its ages since I saw a picture like this. There are so many different shorts/trousers. AND its ages since I made any of either
That is really interesting and now I realize that I call some of my pants by the WRONG name. (Hope the will forgive me!!) hehehe *4U & all Sue
This is very nice, let me know when you finish your book, I will like to know how to do patterns. I do some, but very basic.Thanks.****
Maria, I will give one for you for free as cute friend of course with my unrecognizable hand writting name on it. Some calls it autograph, other calls it signature. I actually just finished today, but there are so many places that have typo and wrong graphic. I will keep you updated on my book. Thanks.
That's nice to know Soi, specially for a non-native speaker like me who calls everything pants! Thank you for sharing this picture. *4U.
There r 4 types of shorts base on length and 6 types of pants.
that's so interesting! I've heard of several of those but didn't realize that there was really a difference between a few! Thanks for sharing!

Good luck with your book. I also do designing. Used to teach pattern designing and dressmaking, and it is such fun. I am very impressed with your drawing.
This is great - always nice to really know the names of the pants we wear, huh?
