ok this might be a dumb question but i am drawing a blank..... what is the name of a program that changes design formats from one to another?

Not sure if this is what you want, but I use embroiderylibrary to convert my designs. Hope this helps :)

Wilcom or Ambassador both are free
Both are programs to view,resize,convert to another format, see a stitch out, jump stitches,etc.
