relocate to the new facility which would mean I would have been on the road 3-5 hours each day. My DH has been working hard to get my office put into the upstairs of our garage which is 2-story. I have to go out tomorrow to help pick out the flooring. The phone company is coming out for the phone lines and the data line on Tuesday, so things are moving quickly. This will be nice - I will get up make my coffee, cross the deck, and go upstairs to my office to work! Can't wait. But the greatest surprise was yesterday when we were told my GS is coming home on leave for Christmas. We are all thrilled. And he gets another stripe on the 12th, so double good for him. Unfortunately we were also told that his squad is slotted to go to Afghanistan next year, not sure exactly when, but my DD is all ready getting upset about it. We just have to hope and pray that things will settle down, and he will be pulled from the slot. Thanks for letting me share this with you.

Great news about the job. I know what the driving is, I used to do a lot also. Hopefully, the afghanistan thing won't occur!

Glad your family will be together for Christmas and your commute tine will be over. Good things happen to those who wait. I am retired now, but started working for A.T.&T. in 1970 and they ruined all the Holidays for the next 26 yrs. One had to have at least 30 yrs to get Christmas off and that is retirement time!!!! I retired 4 yrs early but still got my benefits and pension. I have a very tight budget, but I am so blessed. The stress of being in the "rat-race" is over.

Wonderful news!! I worked from home for a few years before I got disabled, and it was such a joy! No stress of driving, getting dressed, anything. I got paid for working in my PJ's, with my coffee to hand & kitties on my lap. Did some of my best work that way! Please enjoy your time with your GS!!! And thank him for being on the front line of our freedom! Without brave young people like him, heaven only knows where we would be. I hope your DD can enjoy the time with him, and not borrow trouble. Deployment is yet a ways away, a lot can happen between now & then. Take each day as it comes, and rejoice in each other's company. I'm sure rejoicing for all your good fortune today!! Luv, Marji

Good news on the job! Wow you just gained 10 more hours a week since you don't have to commute anymore! You are going to have a super holiday with DGS! Thank him for me for his service. I have so much respect for the young men and women who serve. Prayers for his next tour to be safe.;)

Beth, such great news about working from home and your DH is so great to make you your own office - such a short distance to work - isn't that just the best? I am so happy to hear that you GS will be home for the Holidays - we will pray for you all - that peace will come or he will be pulled from the slot. Thanks so for sharing.
