Check the stitch count. Rule of thumb- for every 10,000 stitches, 1 layer of stabilizer. If the design has over 30,000 stitches it pays to slip the 3rd layer under the hoop.It makes no difference whether you use tear away or cut away.But it has to be good quality stabilizer.
It could have been the digitizing as well.
And also if you put a design on stretch knit fabric or fleecy, and it has been digitized to go on cotton, you could have a problem
It has happened to me before its either in the design,incorrect hooping or it needs mo0re stabilizer underneath. This is what i was told by my embroidery teacher so hope this helps happy stitching :)
