i'm in sask too celcticlady!! and its -31 here but feels like -45!! I hope your daughter is ok.. and i pray that they and everyone will get their power back ASAP!!
Thanks for thinking of us! This is the worst ice storm that we've experienced in over 30 years here in NH. Power went out Thursday night, but hubby spent the day yesterday getting the generator hooked up so that we can have hot water, kitchen range, lights, computer.... he says we can even do the laundry (no vacation there). In our small town alone, they reported 200 broken telephone poles. I can't describe the vast mess of broken trees & downed wires. People are so amazing in a situation like this. Nearby churches have opened their doors for hot meals & warm shelter. We saw one sign indicating "free hot showers". And a couple of gentlemen electricians had a sign volunteering to bring & temporarily run generators to warm homes to keep pipes from freezing. We saw one convoy of telephone trucks heading this way (we were down in MA today). I hope your daughter is now with power and her life is back to normal. Flowers for you!!
Goodness, I have never experienced any weather that comes close to your temperature, its been 33c, the last few days, take care
We are hovering at the ZERO mark here in Southern Ontario. It was supposed to go to +8 (ya right). Got an e-mail from my aunt and uncle in Texas, boasting about turning on their A/C and wearing short. Needless to say I politely told them where to go! LOL
poor baby, we have a little gray sky here today, kinda chilly only got to 70! Shame on me hope you drive safely to and from your party. Have fun
