Easy Christmas Package Pillows

Choose a pretty Holiday fabric and coordinating ribbon.

Measure the pillow size desired (14” x 14”) and add the allowance for the overlap.
Example – 14” x 33”. No seam allowance is allowed here, but this makes for a fluffier pillow.

Lay the ribbon in center length wise and stitch – I used a decorative edge stitch. Next you will be stitching the ribbon on the width of the pillow – Make sure that this will be the center of the pillow when completed.

Hem the ends by turning under ¼” and folding ¼” and stitch to enclose all raw edges. Do both ends

Fold right sides together, allowing about 3/12” – 4” overlap for the back side. Make sure that your ribbon cross is centered correcting for the front. Stitch sides together with ½” allowance and use seam finish to prevent fraying (serging these together is great).

If squared off corners are desired (this makes for a more finished looking “Package”) do this at this time. Turn right side out, making sure to adjust your corners.

Your pillow cover is complete – add a pretty bow to the front (I used a safety pin to attach – so that I could removed for storing), or pretty ribbon roses. I also made these, by folding over the ribbons – I know that all of us have done these at one time or another. ************************************************************
Other shapes can also be done, as shown in my rectangular one. _

Thank you so much for the directions, next year my pillows will not be hiding behind the couch & I hope to figure out how to send my picture. Today I decided to check out some of the headers & I found this answer.
Thanks again.
