I am stitching location on my tag quilt but I have got more than one person from some areas and so thought I might use a permanent pen and write names on block as there is not enough room to also stitch names What do you think

Was just scrolling through and wondered if you had decided AND find yes you have. Happy sewing.

I too think that embroidery would be best. But I have seen nice things done with fabric markers. However, I think a more important thing to consider is uniformity for best appearance. Good luck in your decision! Just remember we want to see it when completed. It is such a unique idea!

Hello Raels, I agree with Yoriko and Lilian, I think there will be just a little place to add little fonts. Good luck with your labelquilt.

I agree that it is YOUR quilt BUT I also agree with the comments from Lbrow and Manami. I also know that if work was being submitted as part of coursework for marking it would be commented on. If it were my quilt I would find a way of embroidering. Happy deciding...

Raelene - this is your quilt, and you need to make it for you. You are the primary person to please with this. The embroidery is nice, but I have seen beautiful quiltwork done with "Pencil" drawings to define an area. Remember that you are #1, and what a great quilt you will have when completed.

Raelene, I know it's much more work, but I really think it's more elegant with the embroidery. Use small script & perhaps just put first initial & last name. It is your personal quilt though & really the final decision is yours to make. You do not have to please anyone but Raelene. *4U

It's my personal oppinion. As a teacher, in Japan we do use a lot of permanent pen to write children names on their school uniforms, books etc, it's an easy and fast way. I think I sent you tags with permanent pen too (use nail polish remover to take that off, I've learned that after writting wrong names :)). It just doesn't look nice in such a beautiful project you are working on. How about small font for embroidering? Hugs&*

Raelene, this is your quilt and if you like the idea - I think you should do it - I have seen permanet pen writing on quilts before. I am not a quilter and don't know how they might think about it - but I think you should do it - for you.

I think you deserve a bunch of flowers for all of your work...so here is your first. Someone smarter than me will give you the answer you need.
