i have been searching for some tiny designs to use on small felt xmas tree stockings. I use sew what pro and it will convert fonts to embroidery format so took a look for special fonts and found one that is a dream. " 4yeoxmas " all xmas stuff IE bells snowmen trees parcels holly ETC. it was free download and off course can be re sized. i find its easy to sort them out if i just type in the alphabet on a windows clear page and give it the title of the font, I can then look back and see exactly what letter i wish to use. I will now go searching for more special fonts and wingdings.. no more excuses about not finding tiny designs now. so save any yo want to a folder on desktop

To add fonts to your computer go to "start. > control panel.> fonts. you can then click and drag the font from a folder on the desk top into it. you can then put teh folder into the bin and remove it.
enjoy. Eggyannie in the Uk

Yes I have done this. I am currently working on Maths symbols for an idea I have. Its great fun. Not sure that I am getting ready for Christmas though. Think I have also converted some clip art too. Happy sewing

You can view any of your fonts with the Character Map in your Windows software. It's located under, "Start; All Programs; Accessories; System Tools; Character Map" If you right click on it, and pin it to your start menu, you'll have it right there whenever you need it. To use it, just select the font you want to see, click on each icon for a larger view. You can copy and paste right from the Character Map. They are laid-out according the their place on the keyboard.

wing dings and wingbats are like fonts but instead of a letter you get a picture or a pattern. some of them wingdings are for weddings and so have doeves bells rings and champagne glasses amongst it, wingbats are the same kind of thing, just put the words free fonts into a search engine or even free wingbats and you will find a whole new world. create a folder on yor desk top and save the fonts to that. then
to add them to your computer simply hit start > control panel > fonts. open the folder and then select all and copy and paste to the fonts file. you are now ready to play. if you are into card makeing then these are wonderful to use as borders.

You're making an early start, that's for sure. If I may ask, what is the name of the site you downloaded that font from?

you are welcome I love wingdings as many of them are free and sew what pro is so cheap but so good that it has paid for itself with ease
