I'd like to digitize FSL- need some advise from all the "cuties"

How do I go about digitizing FSL please give me some tips

There is a yahoo group called the Lace Place. They have lessons and instructions on how to do FSL. I am learning myself! I have made a set of coasters for my DD's godmother. They turned out really nice...
