bunnyoane u have excelloent answers here, Same thread top & bottom 1 or 2 layers of WSS(your choice) Be very careful u can become addicted to FSL very quickly LOL *
I just tried doing FSL about two weeks ago, and now I'm addicted!! I use one layer of Vilene, and have great luck! I hope you have the same initial result that I did, because you're gonna love it!
You will love it. Just use a wash away stablizer and hoop well. I most often use Solvy heavy weight and only one layer. I also slow my machine down but I usually do for most designs. Other types may require the 2 layers. Just recently I tried Vilene WSS(water soluble stablizer). It looks like fabric stablizer. I used two layers of that and it also worked very well. I believe a lot of folks on here use it.
What are you having trouble with and what design? I do a LOT of FSL and I use two layers of wash away. I make sure it is tight in the hoop.I slowed my stitches down from 1000spm to 600spm. I don't have any trouble at all. Let me know what you are having trouble with and I'll try to help. I love FSL.

I haven't tried it yet that's why I was wondering if it was hard to do .There are a lot of neat designs. Thanks
Always use two layers of wash away - that is the only way FSL project will come out beautifull. Remember to use same colour thread top and bottom. Carin
Sorry how rude of me,where were my manners.please could someone help me,i have a janome 9700.
on my Janome 10000 I use 'SET' button on display panel of machine, then EMBROIDERY - you may have to page over until you find Maximum Speed Setting then minus or plus- remember to hit REGISTER' button - hope this helps if not back to the instruction book as my model is not the same as yours good luck from minicow
