I would like to D/L some of the free Clip Art for when I can start digitizing, and I do not know what format to D/L in. Some of the free clip arts are so cute. I hate to miss out on them. Thanks to anyone who can help me. Hugs, Judy

I have 4D Extra and just this week tried to use the Express Wizard. My first attempts are in projects. See other comments with Pennifold's comments.

Dear Gramsbear, I was just reading your profile and thought how nice you sounded and then saw your question at the top of the webpage. I have the Viking SE designer sewing machine and download clipart frequently. You need to have the 4D Express Design Wizard on your programme. Open up Express Design Wizard and click on Create Express Embroidery follow the prompts by hitting the next arrow when it comes to the window with a little camera saying view picture click on one of the designs and again follow the prompts till you get to the one where it says thread colour preview click on automatically remove background colour and then continue on till the background fabric one - I use weave not knit and finish off the design automatically goes to the hoop on the screen and then you can download to a usb or straight to your machine depending on what you have. I download the design in HUS. A jpg file is o.k. too - check out what your machine can take by asking your distributor or where you bought it from. I live in Newcastle, Australia and my local store where I bought it from are fabulous. Good luck. My name is Chris Pennifold - I am 56 and also a grandmother of 2 - Ryke will be 3 on Friday and Jasana is 19months old. I love doing embroidery on my Designer SE. God bless and I hope I may have been a little bit of help to you. Oh! also trying saving the download to the desktop of the computer and right click on the design, hit on extract all and then follow the prompts.

Pennifold did a great job describing the process. I discovered that jpeg works better than gif. I haven't tried BMP memtioned below.

No, not strange at all. But, if you want to download a clip art you should start a file for your clip art designs. With the 4D you can use a JPG, or BMP, and possible others, but that is what I am familiar with. The clip art will be the design you transport into your design creator. I have only played with it a little bit, but like others, I have downloaded file to save for later. I wish you luck. My job ususally keeps me too busy to play with the software as much as I would like. I have the 4D Pro, and still don't know everything that I would like to know with it. Good luck.

I use the software, and just got a CD set called "Simply Teach Me" for 4D. It is absolutely excellent. What are your problems?
