Some one asked how this could have been done,as if it couldn't be done. Well it is not impossible as I have just done it and the lesson is when moving your computer around don't plug the modem power cord into a powerboard with the power onto the board as when the prongs dont line up properly and it makes conection without being pushed in all the way and it sizzles and sparks and carries on and then, oops no power to the router and you have just fried the router. See how easy it is. I learnt the hard way because I was in a hurry to get it done and didn't stop to think what I was doing at each step, and that is how it is done. lol and big bucks later, I am back.

Just so long as you're back here with us sandra - that's all that matters, haha! What an expensive lesson though. Hugs and flowers sweetie.

I don't think I'll try it...But your instructions are great...LOL...I fried my Mother Board...took the dog out, came back in and smelled smoke..computer guy said it was probably a dog hair that crossed the connection and POOF.. Lucky the house didn't burn down..I unplugged everything!
