I had this happen to me when I was downloading designs from a website thinking they were embroidery files. Is this what you were doing? If so. it could be that your firewall was on. turn your firewall off and go back and redownload them...they will then download the correct way. I did that and it worked for me..
I recived those files via email... and it should be embroidery files...Thanks for trying to help me! Pat
efw is a compressed or zipped file. You cannot convert those to an embroidery format.You must unzip them to open them. Copy and paste efw into your browser and it will tell you what you should do with them and how.
