efficient serger now sounds like a trashing machine! It seems to serge just fine but the noise is terrible. Rattles like you wouldn't believe. Asked my Husqvarna lady and she said 'bring it in and we'll check it out', which is great except it's almost an hour away and if it's just something silly maybe I could do it. Any suggestions??????????

Well "Bikermomfl" I agree with Marj's solution. I have a Husqvarna Overlocker (not serger here in Aus)and it sounds like you may have something like a needle point or feed dog not aligned properly. Give it a shake upside down. If nothing is there then as it is under warranty I'd take it back. Sorry about you being so far away from the dealer. Is there no-one in your local area that can look at it for you? Also I always unthread and rethread just in case something is not right. Once you get used to it - it's not so bad. I just used mine on the Chasuble on Saturday and it sewed well.

Love Chris (thanks for the laugh Marj!! they can be daunting contraptions, can't they?)

I'd take it in...specially since it is still brand NEW and under warranty...sound like something might be bent...I fight with my serger also...I avoid it most of the time:(

Much as I hate to do it, I usually unthread & rethread the machine. Also check inside to be sure there's nothing caught. Put in a new needle. Clean out all the lint, etc. IF it is still "trashing around" better take it in. Be SURE the needle is all the way up before you tighten the screw...I didn't have a needle in all the way once & it did that. Good luck & let us know what was wrong!

I would definitely check your needles and change them. If that doesn't work take it to the shop.

Bikermom, I have a different brand, however, love my serger. My thoughts are, what size needle are you using? With jeans I usually use a 14/90, anyway could you have a bent needle? Did you loosen the tenion on the serger foot? I also agree with Marji, turn it upside down and shake it, maybe something is inside. H&*.

I have a Husqvarna Designer1 and it make aloot of noise when the feed dogs are out of alinement. My Juki serger will do the same thing.

Hmmm, that's why my serger sits there, lurking in the sewing room like a large venomous spider, waiting to get me. I'm scared to death of it! Could it possibly be a pin, or piece of one, caught inside? Or a button? Shake the bejezuz out of it, maybe the offending piece will fall out? Hope somebody comes up with a more intelligent answer for you. Hugs, Marji
