Had that one and now this one and on and on it goes these machines are developing to fast and next they will be loading themselves. How many of you have upgraded and how many times. I my self have had so many computa's and now 2 embroidery machines I tell the lady at the shop that I don't want to view any Machines But have got a new baby coming it is my quilting machine and table and now they tell me you can get a machine that sits on top of it and can quilt without hand guiding it. wow what next.

OH Brenda, I only just found this post and couldn't help responding.

I am the same with computers but only when they start to slow down too much and can't handle my latest software purchase. LOL!!!

As far as machines go, I've had my Elna Supermatic for 41 years and was quite happy with her until I went shopping for a pair of snipping scissors.

I made the mistake of taking Ray with me and while I was comparing the various scissors and chatting to the store owner, Ray was wandering around all the embroidery machines. I had no idea there were such things as computerised embroidery machines!!!

Needless to say you can guess the rest!

I now have three embroidery machines and still have my old Elna Supermatic and Bernina Overlocker.

But to be fair, if my Elna XQ2 hadn't seized up and been in the repairshop for nine months there is no way we would have bought the Diamond, and if we hadn't bought the Diamond I wouldn't have been given the Brother 750 Disney machine as a bonus.

And I definitely have no plans to buy any more machines just for the sake of upgrading.
I have no more room for them. LOL!!!
Hugs n roses, M

I have been sewing with my trusty Bernina earlier today, its still brilliant after 34 years. Will my embroidery machine last me that long?

Still have my first machine Janome MC9700..can't see me upgrading anytime soon as we're still going strong...knock on wood. Computers are a different story...we're either on our third or fourth.

I have upgraded sewing machines 3 times and embrodery machines twice... my serger I bought this year (only one I've owned). I'm a die hard Baby Lock fan... for sure! My Ellisimo will be around probably for the next 20 years... have no reason to upgrade. Well, I'm sure I'll find a "reason", but doesn't mean I can afford it! LOL

As for computers, my home machine stinks! I need a new one, but not in the budget this year... maybe next.

Bought a Brother Galaxy in 1992, gave that to my daughter when I bought the Designer 1 in 1998. That's still going strong, without the upgrade for USB. Then I bought the Brother 190D as an extra, just for the Disney designs and a number of my old cards my daughter did not like. And I have the Viking Iris, which I use for sewing. I take that one to workshops as it can embroider as well. Would not be so bad if it were my only hobby...

This alls sounds familar! I started off many moons ago with the New Home Memory Craft 7000 that had built-in embroidery designs(small). I do not know if any of the others were on the market at the time. Next came my Singer Quantum XL-1000 @&^%$*&()and my beloved Esante' Baby lock and the last one before I got so sick and had to retire was the Ellageo' Babylock. I still have all of them and they all work well! I use the New Home just for reg sewing and use both of my Baby locks but rarely touch the Singer. I have to learn how to use it everytime I get it out from under its cover. I also have 2 sergers. All of these machines are in 1 room and set-up along with my latest computer. I have no idea how many computers I have had. Lightening got 2 of them. My laptop died of old age. It was on the ARK.with Noah. I had a hand-held but never did get any use out of it. It is in a drawer probably full of battery acid. When I was working, I was a gadget freak. Now I just pray that nothing breaks down!!! I would love to have a commercial machine but I do not see any chance of that, not living off a disability check. My savings did not go far with all the meds and Dr. bills. I'm just glad to have what I do. They keep me busy. Baby lock has out a new machine that I would love to have but I decided I did not need it when I priced it. I am working on getting the new Expressions Machine. You can do alot of crafty things with it! Of course it is is about $350.00 w/the stuff you have to have to use it. Each disc is about $50.00 so I may have to rethink that also. I do all kind of crafts including painting. I am just too slow to get much done anymore. With my arthritis as bad as it is, some days I can barely walk. I refuse to give up!!!!!

Amen! I started with a Viking 900 something, went to the Rose, then the D-1, then the SE and now have a Diamond! Did keep my SE this time, however. Wish I had a huge sewing room to have all going at the same time! I'd embroider on both while serging on the serger! But I still don't spend as much money on my hobby as some do on playing golf & paying golf club dues & green fees!! (That's ammo for you ladies whose hubby plays golf! hee hee)

I am just like blhamblen and have not upgraded my small Brother Machine. But, I really would love to have a larger embroidery hoop size... but, doubt that will happen anytime soon. I have had my laptop for a year now - and except for having to use a fan underneath it cause it overheats quickly....I love it too. I just don't look at the newer embroidery machines - no need to upset myself - lol!!!!
