Well, Bill is FINALLY home!! They spent a quiet Easter with the dogs (well, ok, 25 Shelties & Papillions maybe isn't exactly a "quiet" Easter, hee hee hee) and Bill is doing better every day. Being home is a good healer, too, we probably all know that. I thank you and Pam thanks you all so much for your prayers, without them I'm not sure how well Bill would have gotten along, truly. I do believe in the power of prayer, and am constantly grateful for the willingness of Cuties to give of their time and caring for people they don't even know. It makes a difference in ALL our lives, the prayed for, and the pray-er as well. Love you all, Marji
UPDATE ON BILL'S CONDITION: Most recent e-mail from my SIL
hi everyone,
just thought i would give everyone an update on bill. his insurance doesn't want to pay for him to stay in rehab so they are transferring him to Fairview Manor Nursing Home tomorrow. This should be a temporary stay - just unsure how long. Hopefully he will be home in a few weeks. Don't we all just hate insurance companies!!!!!!
Bill is trying to stay upbeat about all of it but i know it has to be very depressing for him. once he gets settled i will take some of the dogs over to see him. I know he will really enjoy that. say some prayers that he comes home soon. lots of love, pam
My SIL breeds Shelties (Jamie in my avatar is one of her line), and has many blue ribbons from the big shows. They have about 20 dogs right now, so I'm glad she can take them to see Bill in the nursing home. That will make him feel better, I'm sure he misses them, too. Thanks again for caring, Marji
UPDATE ON BILL'S CONDITION:
more good news!!!! bill is doing great. they moved him to rehab today and will reevaluate him in 5 days. if he continues to show the progress that he has been showing over the last few days they might let him come home i know he is feeling better because he is complaining about being there :) thanks for all the prayers. i can't believe how well he is doing today!!!! pam
UPDATE ON BILL'S CONDITION
My sister in law's e-mail from Sunday March 8, evening: well good news!!! bill is back on his blood thinners and is doing much, much better. the catscan today still shows some swelling and some bleeding in the brain but it is not getting any worse. so that is really good!!! they are letting him get out of bed but he must be careful because his coordination and balance are still messed up. he stilll has a lot of pain behind his eyes and cannot tolerate any type of bright lights. he still has some double vision but that has also improved greatly. when he is welll enough they are going to transfer him to rehab. he was very fortunate as he did not suffer any paralysis or any speech problems. it will take him awhile before he is able to get his balance and coordination back but that is what the therapy will be for. it all looks good from now on. i have passed on the many well wishes from everyone and cannot thank everyone enough for all their prayers. the power of prayer cannot be equaled by anything. they had given him a pain shot and he was sound asleep so i slipped out to come home and take care of the critters. maybe tonight i will get a good night sleep. a lot of stress has been lifted. lots of love, pam
Again, I thank you all who prayed about this matter, keep up the good work! Marji
Awesome news. I will continue praying for rehabilitation. Hopefully he will get his balance back soon and life gets back to normal. Angie
From my sister-in law in today's mail: I was waiting until i had more news to pass on. they took Bill off the blood thinners about 7 am this morning so that they could take the drain out of his head. This afternoon they took the drain out and did another catscan. The fluid that they had been draining out is now under control which is good news. But the bad news is that he is still bleeding in the brain and the spine, therefore they were unable to put him back on any type of blood thinners. The doctor told me that it would 3 to 4 days before they would be able to restart the blood thinners. If they put him back on them now they would be unable to control the bleeding. By leaving him off they risk another heart attack and or another stroke. He is still in ICU. They will continue to monitor him closely for the next several days so please keep up all the prayers as he still needs them. I have passed along all the well wishes that everyone has sent. thanks again. lots of love, Pam
Thank you all for your continued prayers, Marji
Dear Marji, he and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love,Yoriko
Of course Marji, I hope the best for you and your family, please keep us informed.
Thank you all, so much! The next 24 hours will be critical, to see if the brain stops swelling. So, March 3 & 4 are the days. Thanks again, I love you, Marji
Marji, I would be honored. Please keep us informed as to his progress. Love you, Jerrilyn
Done Marji and I will continue praying for him. Keep us posted on how he is doing.
