What a deal! Don't you just love making something cute and fresh from someone's castoffs. Now that's my idea of recycling!
A very talented job u have done here. *4U for being so thrifty also
How cute! And don't we all love a bargin? Guess we better all head for the Goodwill stores! I did get a neat jeans shirt one time for 50 cents, got home & it had a hole in the back...I just embroidered a button over the hole along with some more buttons! Been wearing it for years now!
thanks! I have been picking up jean skirts from Goodwill to cut apart for the fabric. Look in the plus sizes...lots of fabric in the bigger skirts to work with. I love having the denim handy!
I bet Marisa will be just darling in this outfit. Great work.
Very pretty outfit.. the snow in behind looks cold tho! Nice to see you posting again. The first project I remember seeing on cute was your 'non-owl' placemat bags - got me hooked on this site - I thought they were so cute.
thanks~...yep, still cold here in Michigan! but today helped to take that snowbank behind the outfit down a little more. hopefully by the 4th of July it will be gone...he he. I keep myself quite busy, but have recently been bitten by the bug again to sew. Sew....maybe you will see a few more projects in the near future!
very cute top you made .. what pattern is that.. I would like to make that top for my granddaughters.. I do not buy patterns very often.. kathy
Kathy...the pattern is Simplicity 5695. Very easy...especially using a serger. I think I had the top yoke section put together (before stitching down the neck & sleeve casings) in about 5 minutes! The length of the skirt was determined by how much fabric I had left on the piece when I was cutting it out..he he...so it's a little shorter than the dress view on the pattern, but a nice length for a top!
hello and thank you for this info.. maybe I can get it while joann's is having a sale.. kathy
What an awesome idea!!! You saved alot of $$$$ *4U
