Some of you may remember that I had to send my brand new Machine back after having it only one week. It was replaced with a new machine because the first one was defective. Well, I had to send the SECOND machine back after about a week and a half. The bobbin casing was defective on that one. The bobbin casing was replaced and I got the machine back (again, about three weeks ago. Well, today....the darned thing jammed up and locked up, just like the first one did. UGH!!! I have never had this kind of trouble with Brother machines, before. Maybe this model is just not a good model! Now, I have to send it back AGAIN!! Thankfully, I don't have to pay for shipping since it in under warranty, but I know that woman that I have to deal with is sick to death of hearing from me. This will be the THIRD time in less than two months that I have had to ship this machine back. THIRD time is a charm??????

I bought an Innovis 700E and had trouble from the outset. Problem was the needle it was fitted with at the factory was burred, was the last thing I thought of, but it will not tolerate any bobbin filler but Brother #90, and I'm always adjusting tension (top and Bottom). When it works it is beautiful, and I'm persevering with it because my sister bought the same model at the same time, and hasn't had a problem. I think i was spoilt with my old Galaxie (thank heaven I kept it), it is so reliable.

Sorry to hear about your machine WL. I have the Brother PE-700 since 8/07. I don't use it as much as I would like however; I've had no problems with it. It's not your fault that the machine is not working properly hopefully the woman will understand. *2U

Well, the thing has gone back yet, another time since this post. I hope that eventually all the "kinks" get worked out.

I'm so sorry for your trouble!! Would they give you your money back, or upgrade the machine for you? She's lost all her commission paying postage already, I would think. Tell her, "Let's make a deal!!!" In this economy, maybe she'll go for it. Worth it to give you a better machine she won't have to fix every few weeks. I sure would, if I were that lady. Best of luck, this must be so frustrating for you!! Hugs, Marji

I have asked them again about refunds . I can get a store credit, and put it toward another machine. Problem is thata bigger and better machine just isn't within my budget.

My first embroidery machine was a Brother SE350 that I got from Wal Mart. I loved it and never had a problem with it. I just wanted a larger embroidery field. I still use the SE350 when the new machine is in the shop.

Obviously the Brother PE-700ll must have a lot of manufacturing issues and the quality is not there. Think the best course of action would be to upgrade
to a little pricer machine where the quality should be better. Unfortunately Brother does make cheaper end embroidery machines that have even sold at Walmart...not a good deal as they are looked at as throw away machines by service techs..because of poor manufacturing. Sorry for this review but it is a true one. The higher end machines do have some problems from time to time but these occasions are rare.

Oh do i ever know the problem you are having. At least Brother gives you a replacement machine fairly quickly.

My $AUD7,000 Elna XQ2 seized up on 28th July 2008 AND I STILL DON'T HAVE IT BACK!!!!!!!

They say patience is a virtue but i think it's more of a curse. If I wasn't battling chemo I would be fighting a lot harder for it's return but for now i'm stumped.

Don't be worried about what the shop owner thinks, it's their job to serve you, and "the squeeky wheel gets the grease" as they say..

Good luck getting a replacement, maybe you should consider mentioning they give you the next model up??!!!

hugs n roses, m

OMG!! You have waited that long for a REPAIR??? I think you might have to contact the consumer protection agency, or BBB. There is no reaason to have to wait so long! Especially at the price you have paid for the machine!!

I have a Brother also. It worked great until it was about 10 months old. Then the tension broke so it was unuseable. Sent it back, took 3 weeks to get a replacedent. That machine worked but the bobbin winder didn't. Got third machine and the threader was broken. Finally on the forth try they got it right.
this was during the holidays, so there were a lot of projects I didn't get done. I was pretty upset. It was also my grandson's 1st birthday and I had all kinds of things planned. Grrrrr. They got sick of hearing from me!

I can sympathize with you!! It's so frustrating to have to keep packing it up and sending it back. THEN, wait for it to be repaired/replaced and returned. The woman that I have to deal with, has already ade a comment about how much it is costing her in shipping charges. Well....she's gonna have to pay it AGAIN!!!

meganne by meganne 17 Apr 2009

Don't worry about HER fees, Brother would probably be reimbursing her costs. hnr, M
