Heather - I had a similar problem with black thread and I just happened to mention it to Tubby and he said - DON'T USE BLACK THREAD WHEN EMBROIDERING" It is somehow dipped twice when it is being "inked" and weakens the thread. So ever since I use a dark grey, or a chocolate brown. Hope this helps! Love and blessings Chris

Tks for the tip about black thread! Now what do I do with this HUGE cone of black embroidery thread? And, yes, it does shread & break sometimes when others don't!

thanks for the tip,i have tried quite a few brands, they all seem to break or loop up at the back to make a big mess.flowers for you.

Does your machine have a screen?- if so look for & press SET( mine is at the bottom of the screen- Janome 10000) then press EMBROIDERY -look for speed with a - & +- adjust your speed & press REGISTER & Bob's your uncle or I hope so. You may have to SET your machine to professional mode- in your manual look for MACHINE SETTINGS and/or PROFESSIONAL MODE.

Glad I could help Oh forgot to tell you I'm blond too but I've never let that hold me back. Remember that once you press REGISTER that's the speed your machine will stay at until you change it again.

Heather, if you have a 'menu' on your machine, you'll most probably find somewhere on it to slow your machine. Hugs and flowers, and hope you work it out sweetie.

I have the Janome MC10000 and on the very front of the machine is a dial where you can move from right to left. Left being the slowest and right the fastest the machine will go. I do not know if your machine has this or not but I would think it possibly does. Maybe you need to check with your dealer also they could be of some help. hope this works for you.
